When I saw OLP in Cleveland this past summer, the oldest shirt I remember seeing was the one with "Talking is just masturbating without the mess" on the back.

The backdrop to Big Dumb Rocket and more specifically, If You Believe, were incredible!

Both interpretations were outstanding. Only regret is that it was dubbed as "work".

Haha, of course I have been to shows. But isn't it an unwritten rule that you never wear a band shirt to their own concert? Not that it matters.

And for If You Believe...you mean it was dubbed "if you believe in the work I'm calling"?

Am I still the only one who think OLP should sell bootlegs from these shows to their fans?

As I said earlier. Pearl Jam does that and I'm pretty sure they make a decent amount of money from these bootlegs, plus their fans get really happy to have these CDs as souvenirs from the shows they went to.

Talk about pleasing their fans... that would be a sweet way to do so.

You're talking about the NO/YES/DIE backdrop?

Apart from the actual video clips, I think most of them pre-made stock video loops. Ditto for the effects on the LED screens. At times they seemed appropriate but at others they seemed distracting to me and default screensaver'ish.

100 Aisles is sounding like a live powerhouse. Big Dumb Rocket sounds great!

Not gonna lie, 3:12 kinda scared me.

The issue with selling the recordings is a legal one. It deals with Sony owning the rights to the songs, and the union contracts that bind a lot of the venues that they are playing on this tour.

I had a chance to speak to OLP management (Coalition Entertainment) about the tour, and about the B-side disc we have all been begging for. While the band, and their management are aware how much we want it, they talked to me about all the red tape that would be involved in making it happen. There would be a large amount of legal work to be done, and odds are that Sony would have final say on what gets put out, since they own the master recordings.

The LED backgrounds...no, they just aren't as good as the last tour.

I think the fact that Sony put out the "best of Our Lady Peace" CD last year proves how willing they would be to allow for a B-sides disc. Revenue is revenue.

Yes. Pre-made stock video loops or not, I personally thought they did those two songs justice. It bothers me that they filmed their only live DVD performance during probably their worst live era, save for HIPT.

Nice to get some kind of answers about that. Thanks for asking, Matt.

I still reaaally hope they can reach some kind of agreement with Sony about it in the not-so-distant future. Sony would definitely be willing to get involved, as they have no problem squeezing their discography for every penny it's worth... So hopefully the two can work together, without the band getting screwed over.

@Fabio, Pearl Jam's official bootlegs are so dang expensive though! And as for the B-sides: red tape or not, I don't want to be an old geezer when this stuff is finally put out. Maybe if Our Lady Peace was as popular as Nirvana people would find a way to steal this stuff like they did with them!

I'm pretty confused by people who think the HIPT tour was a bad time to see OLP live. I still feel like that was one of their best tours. The setlist kept on changing, some of the songs sounded different night after night (not in a bad way). They really kept tweaking and tuning the show night after night which I think is something any band should do. They began to play more new and different arrangements of old songs (to a much greater degree than they had before). They put on memorable shows the 3 times I saw them that tour.

That said I never saw the band live before 2002 -- just have seen videos and listened to recordings. But I never felt like anything was lacking during the HIPT tour.

The only "problem" was Joel upstaging them with his opening set as Pedestrian. :lol:

Sounds pretty cool.
And yeah, Big Dumb Rocket sounds awesome live. Man, they should bring some of these old songs back to their regular sets...

Expensive or not, I believe that if you're a fan, it's a pretty awesome souvenir
