The band fucking knows that people record and Raine even recorded some himself, yet security and the venue still want to take it away? WHY!? It's not their music being recorded. Next time Raine records footage with his camera I want someone to ask security to confiscate it and see how they react.
Yea at the end of the song, security told me to follow them. I had to go backstage to see the security boss. He asked why I did that and how I got the camera in. I told him Raine took my camera and recorded the audience and band for me, so obviously he didn't care I had it. He then took my camera and told security to take me back to the concert. He came out 5 mins later with the camera and said he took my tape out. The security dude gave me a card and told me to call this guy tomorrow morning. I told him I was from NH and leaving that night. I was crying and the security guy told me not to cry. I had to stand on the side for the rest of the concert and couldn't get my head back into the concert. After the concert I talked to security, asked them if I could talk to him now since I was going back home tonight. They kept giving me a hard time and said to call tomorrow because they were too busy. I just kept crying lol and then the boss told me to take a seat. The boss came over to me ten minutes later and talked. Then he went to go get the guy on the card. I think his name was scott. Scott comes over to me and starts asking me how i got it in, why i was taping it when there was signs saying no video tape. He started to swear and then I cried some more lol. I told him i was from the states going him tonight and raine took my camera and recorded things. He said that raine takes a camera at every concert. I told him I was at a few concerts before where raine specifically asked for a video camera cause he wanted it to be tped and put on internet. Scott was like yea Raine's a pretty cool guy. I was like then if he is okay with it wh is this a big deal. Then he said he would erase everything but that and mail it back to me. I cried and he said don't cry. I'll give it back to you but don't put in on youtube and don't tell anyone I did this. He said it was only their third day in Canada and he doesnt want it shown. He said don't take a fucking video camera to a rock concert and that he was having a bad day and then gave to me. I thanked him, gave him a hug and then left. I was just soo happy to have that footage. It made the whole trip by myself worth it
So much for "polite" Canadians
But seriously, I agree with Fabio, this is ridiculous. The band obviously doesn't mind being recorded and upped to Youtube (they're on an indie label anyway) so why the hell does the concert venue get to decide? Most of what's on the footage would be the band members and their property anyway, not the concert grounds.
At least in my neighborhood (Southern California), a lot of venues try to capitalize on recording in their building -- ie no video/audio recording unless someone (the band, the record label, the taper) is handing over money to them.
I've seen venue policies ranging from $50/camera to $500+. Other venues here offer their own recording services and do not allow outside audio/video. Yet others simply do not allow it because they find the bright LCD screens in an otherwise dark room distracting to other audience members.
Most likely, it's all about the $$$$. But with easily available small recording devices (phones) and youtube, some of these venue policies are becoming less and less reasonable....

We went into different musical directions for awhile... I was more interested asking if people were Sad, he was more interested in if they Liked It (yeah-ee yeah). But we're finally back on track.
Hhaaha... but yeah... TWF is wayyyyyyyy too damn fast here... it feels like it's on fast forward... I don't know why they rushed it so much, it's such a beautiful song
So of the rarities, all we haven't heard yet are...
Well... I guess The Wonderful Future live version from 2002 will go down as one of the great gems.
This one's a tad too fast to let the song be its funky syncopated self. And the ending sort of just gets lost in noise vs. the 2002 version had a nice ending with a ritardando leading to the last note.
I do hope they slow it down!!

Hoooooold on! There's a 2002 version of The Wonderful Future?! Holy crap, I want that! Is there anywhere else I can get it besides the hub? :O
The Wonderful Future didn't really work for me...
The drums are actually right... but indeed a bit too fast. Maybe for the fact we can't really hear the bass in this video it sounds like there's something missing, maybe a second guitar... dunno. Sounds awkward.
