If you guys are talking about his voice in the soundcheck video, I'm pretty sure he was trying to conserve his voice for the show. It definitely didn't sound that way during the actual performance. He was also (according to Steve) sick that night after doing 9 shows in 8 days so...just take the video for what it was: soundcheck.

Exactly, damn him and his concern for the poor. He should just shut up and sing.

Good call, kiddo.

Agreed. Raine has a huge heart. At least he uses his celebrity status to give back to society and attempt to make the world a better place.
“Music doesn’t have the power to change the world. What music does is it changes people, & that changes the world, so to say that music doesn’t change people anymore is just ridiculous. It does everyday. It doesn’t have to be on a political or social level. You could be feeling shitty & it makes you happy & if that’s all it does, it’s changing the world. It’s making it a better place.” ~ Raine Maida

WOW. he looks great in a suit and tie and I do not mean what he wore in OLP or solo. I really dig Raine dressed up as a man instead of a rocker.. Chantal cleaned him up really good. LOL.. Not that he realy needed it.

YOu guys make me laugh with the SHUT UP AND SING BIT> you remind me of a few U2 fans who say that about Bono when he gets political. I look at this way. If they are performing then I want the rocker. If they are at a rally, interivew about charity then it is appropriate..

We have to remember Raine is also an activist..

I remember a drunk woman saying that to Matt Good in Philadelphia. One of the single most disrespectful things I've seen at an intimate performance like that. Matt got pissed, played the rest of his set, canceled the encore. Everyone cussed the woman out over on Near Fantastica.

He was doing his usual comedy banter with the audience and she told him to "shut up and sing."

B to the ITCH..

Seriously that is rude. Saying it to a friend or even under your breath is one thing but to shout it out is another. People can be so stupid at times.

I do not have a problem with anyone doing a little talk here and there at a show.. If it was over the top I be pissed cause I paid for ashow, but if it is someone known for it then what is the problem.

The only problem I had with Raine at a show was when he did the whole anti-corporate American rant during Wipe That Smile at the Canadian shows in 06'. I know not directed at me personally but being an American fan in the audience I was just alittle bit uncomfortable.
