I've done that before. I was the only person I knew who liked them at all, and my friend--who normally would've gone for me anyway--had big important things to do the next day. Sad times. But it was my first and so far only OLP show, so that kinda canceled out any negatives.
Also, I saw the Decemberists a couple weeks ago. Won a free Decemberists shirt, and also it was an amazing show. I was incredibly impressed.

They played the night after 54-40 at the Winnipeg Exhibition, so they were walking around and watching 54-40. I got a bunch of pictures of them actually cause they were just hanging out in the crowd. Funny thing is, when Dave Genn (formerly of Matthew Good Band and guitarist for 54-40) threw out his pick to the crowd, it hit the lead singer of Mariana Trench's hand and he didn't catch it cause he's too girly, so it fell to the ground and I snagged it before he could. Then I got it autographed by 54-40.

I have been to many many OLP shows alone. For years till I started seeing people from the boards there.
I guess I am lame cause I go to shows alone alot. I just went to Bedouin Soundclash, Jets Overhead, The Rescues alone.. Does not bother me in the least..If it is a choice between going along and missing a show. I go alone.
I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

oh hi guys. i saw the hip tonight, totally out of the blue. a couple of my friends were planning to go, but then one backed out last minute, so they called me an hour before the concert was supposed to start, asking me if i wanted to come. unexpected experience, but it was a good concert. i don't usually go to see bands i'm not too familiar with, but the hip actually played a lot of their old stuff, classics i grew up with

Yeah, Dave Genn did some production on their first and second album. Or maybe just the second...? I don't know. And yes, Josh (lead) is kind of girly. Kind of very girly. He's a real nice guy though, as some of you may remember from my stories of him (and his stories of a nunchuck master named Raine Maida).

On Thursday night we hit up the Stimulate This! Tour at the Taste of Minnesota.
Halestorm, Chevelle, and Staind. The highlight of the trip for me before the show was being able to see Chevelle. I thought they were awesome.
I'm not too into Staind because music that makes me wanna cut my wrists just isn't for me. I felt they put on a good show anyways...
Couldn't beat it. Only ten bucks for the tickets and we got ten dollars in food tickets for free at the gate.
