Aww, that sucks. I know he had to like you because he took damn good care of you on NYE. I'll be your internet boyfriend if you want. I'm sure Heather will be ok with it.

Man, I swear if I stay in the house any longer I'm going to turn into a raging alchoholic. After what my mother told me this morning, I could use a stiff shot of whiskey right now and its only 11:15am.

Today I found out that the price of my Spanish study-abroad program this summer has gone up to $3,700 not including food or recreation.
It's in August, and I currently have about one third of that to my name. :(

that sucks. does your school provide any funding support? could you fundraise with bake sales or a yard sale or something? might not add much, but it would be something.

A friend of mine who looked into funding for it was telling me that they had scholarships, but they weren't really available to people who didn't already have a lot of credits and such (we're only first years). I'll give it a shot, though.

it's always worth applying. i know my school promises a minimum amount to anyone going on a school-related trip - exchange, study abroad, or whatever. and there are probably two avenues: your financial/scholarship office, and the office in charge of international travel and such (at York we have a dedicated office, but in some other schools it falls under student programs, i'm told) - i'd suggest you go talk to both because each might have different funds available with different types of requirements.

urgh. one of my housemates left filthy dishes all over the kitchen - and a sink full of what looks like fried egg chunks. i wanted to make a sandwich dammit! and it seems like i'm the only one home other than a stray girlfriend whose name i don't know. so either i do the dishes so i can eat, or i leave them there and hope that the perpetrator gets home soon.

i now picture claire leaving out a bowl full of milk as well cat/dog food and occasionally acting like a bully to other random animals that try to eat the stray girlfriends food (i did that for a stray cat at our old apartment in jax.. the 'raccoons would eat the cat food so i sat outside and scared the raccoons away while the cat ate.. nippy just got mad and jealous and barked (she hated seven and hated the raccoons even more plus... like.. she was a spoiled brat who got jealous of anyone and anything (cept babies.. she loved babies)

Good luck!! Try for student loans if all else fails, that's how I paid for my study abroad in London last year (that and the leftover grant money from the school year that I had squirrelled away).
