The show tonight was great, although I'm already turning green and purple... it was rough on the rail. We also had some barrier malfunctions and it almost went down. Raine had to stop the show and let them fix it, but it kept coming apart and security kept holding it together to keep us from falling through from all the pushing. Craziness!

The rain stopped for the OLP set but we were already soaked to the bone.

They opened with KOTM, played Hope towards the end, played 1 new song (which feels somewhat familiar but I'm not sure why... lyrics included "the kids are alright"... I can't remember much else), and the rest of the setlist was pretty standard. I'll share it tomorrow.

Hopefully some pics and video/audio surface. I've got nothing. A couple of people near me got kicked out with their cameras, and if I had taken mine it would have ended up broken, or I wouldn't have been able to use it anyway... my hands were busy keeping myself safe from the pushers and crowd-surfers.

Two questions (if you don't mind)

1) Did they play as a four piece or did Joel/somebody different join them as well?

..and

2) Was Clumsy slowed down like it was on the HIPT tour or are we back to the piano intro again?

They played as a foursome, and Duncan said they're happy to be a foursome again like years ago for the writing process for the new album... we're curious if they're going to play as a foursome when they tour the next album. We were trying to recall the last time we had seen them without a 5th... Duncan guessed it was the 3 Doors Down tour from 5 years ago, and then the Clumsy tour before that.

Clumsy was slowed down like on the HIPT tour.

3 Doors Down tour and the Coors Light Mountain Jam in Colorado in 2004 were the last time they played as a 4 man unit.

I prefer them as the 5 piece, but 4 can turn out some cool stuff too.

I can tell you that Joel did not play on the new cd.. He said Steve has really come into his own as a guitar player so he is doing the guitar work. Plus Joel is on tour with Pedestrian right now..

Kathy-OUCH. I know how that is. I got banged up pretty bad at many OLP shows.

Soozy.. I can tell you that Jamie E worked with Amie Mann recently on the road and off..

Kicker, that's what I was assuming as well. However, shortly after I went to Wikipedia and ourladypeace.cc, and there were several reports saying it is indeed a new song called "Dreamland."

It wasn't a cover of The Who. He intro'd it as a new song and it is on the bottom of the setlist as "Dreamland"... although they played it about 2/3rds of the way through the set somewhere. If he chatted about the song much I missed it, as I was being crushed by the fat security guy who was leaning over me to yank some guys out of the audience. In fact, I think I missed about a third of the entire show due to the nonsense at the front.

I can't for the life of me remember other lines in the song, despite the fact that I kept repeating them to myself to try to remember them.

I know you probably can't remember much, but did you get a feel from the song that it was a return to their older style or just a re-vamped Innocent?

OH MY GOD FINALLY!!!!!!!

I have been trying to register onto this website for almost 3 months now, apparently there was a technical issue that has now been fixed. Anyway, I am a HUGE OLP fan and I live in PEI. Was reading all these posts and was very desperate to post.

Here's a rough setlist that OLP played at the concert (I already posted this at clumsycongress.com):

Anyway, they fuckin` rocked the house! Matt Mays played before and no one was riled up, I though the concert would be lame, but once OLP started everyone was jumpin!

I also want to comment on "Dreamland", as a response to the user "Illusion".

IMO, the song had much more of a Gravity vibe than a pre-Gravity vibe. Now, thankfully, it had no political feel or forced lyrics feel like with HIPT, but the lyrics were kinda generic and the tune itself wasn't really memorable—given that I barely remember the song.

I don't even really remember any lyrics other than what was already mentioned, and other vague lyric memories include "feet off the ground" or "floating __ feet off the ground", I forget. The beginning of the song was kinda a stacatto riff. I can't actually remember much except that other people around me said "well that wasnt that good".

But like I said, it was still pretty sweet. Any other questions, PLEASE let me know. I plan to post regularly, I just haven't done so yet because I couldn't register!

I'm still pretty worried about the album... And judging by Patrick's analysis of Dreamland, it only raises my fears. However, I think the band has the right idea about giving out information about the album and playing it's songs. Whenever a band hypes up their new album quite a bit, it's tough to meet it's expectations. OLP hasn't given much info about it besides it being more similar to Naveed, so we don't really have a chance to get our hopes up too much or not have our expectations met...

Hey patrick, thanks for the info there, that was exactly what I curious about!

I guess I'm just one of those fans who is blindly holding onto hope that OLP will go back to the style that originally made them great (assuming that they're even able to at this point). I think it's probably because I became a fan post-gravity and I would do almost anything to actually live through a "Spiritual Machines" or a "Clumsy" (I would give almost anything to be at the concerts where OLP were still playing Trapeze and the piano version of Julia). I was kinda hoping with Raine's latest interviews that it might actually happen.

I know I shouldn't be surprised to hear that the band is still writing Gravity-esque music, but I can't help but feel a little let down.
