The Decemberists

Post by liam »

Hands up, who's a fan? *raises hand*

They're some wonderful folk/rock/indie/acoustic with some shards of alternative rock. Go listen if you haven't already.

They're a real gem of a band. ENJOY
(admittedly O VALENCIA! is way more enjoyable live)

I prefer Stephen Colbert.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

I had a chance to see them a few weeks ago along with My Brightest Diamond. I fell asleep on the couch instead.

I have gotten into them massively of late. Moreso Picaresque... The Sporting Life and The Mariner's Revenge Song are both super-cool lyrically. And others, but those are the two I really like.
I just wanna get out,
Stuck inside of this.
Waiting for something else,

Haven't been around this part of the woods in a while...

Anyway..I LOVE these guys. People who loved Picturesque seem to slam The Crane Wife but I think the latter's a very good album. My favourite song by them is "Crane Wife 3" followed very closely by "The Infanta", "We Both Go Down Together", and "The Island".
And if I don't make it known that
I've loved you all along
Just like sunny days that
We ignore because
We're all dumb and jaded
And I hope to God I figure out
What's wrong
