Rise Against - The Sufferer and The Witness
SOOOOOO impressed! AMAZING. I absolutely love this album. I'm really not a punk-rock kinda person either, but this one was fantastic. His voice, the lyrics... <3

Dashboard Confessional - Dusk and Summer
Disappointed. Expectations might have been too high for this one. All the songs sounded like Coldplay-ish or Vindicated-ish... There are a couple good songs, but he's lost his poetic lyrics. Hopefully it'll grow on me.

So I've looked everywhere I can think of trying to find Chris Koster's Secrets of the Lonely CD - it's not up on the site, it's not up on the MySpace, it's not on Amazon...I searched in search engines and still can't find it.

Suggestions anyone?

1.25 hey. I'm sure you could of found that much on the floor if you looked hard enough . Anyway, some of the songs on avalanche are AMAZING. Why they never made "Illinoise" is beyond me. As a whole, Avalanche is not as good as Illinoise, but I'll go as far as to say that it contains some of the best songs Sufjan has ever written.

Anyone agree?

It has some good songs, but it has a lot of stuff that bored me so I drowned it out. Of course, I did that with both "Illinois" and "Seven Swans" and I really like both of those albums now. I suppose it's okay if I don't like everything though, since it's a bunch of outtakes. I'm really looking forward to the next real album though more. Sufjan's said he knows the state he's doing an album on next, but who knows if the album will be state-related, or if it'll be something else.

Anyway........

I haven't heard it yet, but there's no way a song on there touches "Romulus" or "For the Widows in Paradise, for the Fatherless in Ypsilanti" from Greeting From Michigan.

And not to mention the song "Detroit, Lift Up Your Weary Head! (Rebuild! Restore! Reconsider!)" name drops a place called Iriquois Industries, and that place is literally a mile from my house. That's the closest the Warren/Roseville area I grew up in gets mentioned on one of my favorite albums of all time.

Yeah, I am biased, I know.

Those certainly are great songs, and really I won't argue if you find nothing on Avalanche compares, but when you get the chance, listen to "The Henney Buggy Band." If it isnt one of his best, it certainly is one of his most hummable.

DragonForce-Sonic Firestorm

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

The Vaselines - Complete History
Spoon - A Series of Sneaks
The Knife - Silent Shout

And I paid just $14 for the three albums. God, I love getting employee discounts at record stores.
