God bless the Chicago Virgin Megastore:

Andrew Bird & The Mysterious Production of Eggs
Murder By Death - In Bocca Al Lupo
Murder By Death - Who Will Survive and What Will Be Left of Them?
Regina Spektor - Begin To Hope (Special Edition)

Thoughts on In Bocca Al Lupo, Alan? It took a bit but I think it's growing on me with each listen.

Geez, you missed out.

My sister and I went twice and spent about an hour in there each time. Narrowing down potential purchases is hell.

hum. I'm not very impressed with the new Billy Talent.

The lyrics seem almost impersonal. And a lot of the guitar riffs just seem like a rehash of the old stuff. A few songs stand out as being really good but the rest just sort of blend in.

I think I need to go in the othr direction and get the Pezz album.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

Jesu - Silver

Later today, I fully expect myself to own the new TV on the Radio album. And maybe Thom Yorke, if I feel so inclined.

Speaking of Thom...

The last CD I bought:

Radiohead - Creep (auction description claimed it was Australian release, but the catalog number given matches the UK first issue... so not sure which it is until I receive it... hopefully not a counterfeit! But I did pay only $10.50 for it and normally it should sell for over $100 -- crazy!)

Radiohead - Anyone Can Play Guitar (UK 3 track single)

And I'm thinking about getting Anyone Can Play Guitar (Australian 5 track EP) as well.

Broken Boy Soliders - The Raconteurs

Despite the hype connected to anything Jack White touches, and the fact that most people see this as a "Jack White's Side Project", I really enjoyed it. It's nothing life changing, but it's good way to spend half an hour
"How can we justify spending so much on destruction and so little on life?" Matthew Good

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

"Pray for the sheep" Matt Good
"But it's alright, take the world and make it yours again" Matt Good

I felt it in the wind, and i saw it in the sky, i thought it was the end, i thought it was the 4th of July.

"Hold on, hold on children, your mother and father are leaving, hold on, hold on children your best freind's parents are leaving, leaving,.......*AHHH*! " - Death From Above - Black History Month

I just noticed this a second ago....

Honestly, it's alright. It's not Who Will Survive... but that album is a personal favorite of mine. I don't know, I mean, it's good, but it seems like the singer's voice has gone through hell between albums. His vocals almost sound like what Bonnie Prince Billy would sound like if he held notes, and I don't know how I feel about that for their music.

I assume it will grow on me, but we'll see.
