I know some of you are too young or don't know the importance of this place. as of Aug 31st, CBGB in NYC might be closing it's doors for good.. There has been a rent dispute going on for while now with this between the owners of the building and the owner of CBGB..

This club has been like an institution in NYC.. Many bands have played here( including OLP in 94/95 for an industry only show).. It will be a shame if it closes it's doors. Some people have put together a petition to help save the club from distintion.. Here is the link..

They still haven't sorted out the rent problem?!?! Ugh, I just figured after a short amount of time this'd all be fixed. Not cool.

The thought of something else taking over and demolishing the bathrooms, and scraping all the stickers off the wall truly makes me sad.

they haven't settled it. It is getting more press now cause it is close to the date. CB's is having alot of old bands play in August to help out.. I want to see The Anti-Nowhere League if I can.

Onto a different note. In today's paper there was abig article on SONY payola scandal. SOme songs paid to play were

New York Attorney Genereal Eliot Spitzer is doing investigations.. Sony is paying 10 million toward music progams in school. I had to laugh cause some people said they wondered why some songs were played over and over when they are horrile.

YOU CAN BE IN DEFAULT'S NEW VIDEO!

Default wants YOU, their fans, to take part as extras in the video
shoot for their new single “Count On Me.” The video will be shot at
an undisclosed location in the greater TORONTO area on August 30th,
so if you are in the area and over 18 years of age, you can enter to
BE IN THE VIDEO! The video will be directed by Juno award-winning
photographer/director Andrew MacNaughtan (Godsmack, Rush, Big Sugar).

To register to become a video shoot extra volunteer, fans should

Apparently Jeff Martin has left the Tea Party.

there was rumours going around the lasst few months, but aparently the news is true.. TTP ar eno more :cry:

also from what people have written on their board Jeff announced the breakup on radio.. the other guys didnt; even know.

oh yeah. Apparently it was a pretty nasty/shitty thing he did to the other guys.. I don't know the details. Only what I seee on TTP message board..

For anyone who listens to the emo/rock band Bayside, their tour van flipped rhis morning on a patch of ice on the road on their way to another show and their drummer was killed. Their bassist is also in serious condition

I've been watching that over and over and over and over again for the past...oh...over an hour.

The performance makes me so ridiculously happy. Like the last "I can't get to you" where he's choking back tears because he's so happy to be performing again. Wow. It almost made me cry when I first saw it.
