I just got back from seeing jimmy gnecco (of Ours) and i honestly think, without a doubt, that was the best performance i've seen from anyone anywhere. (with 2nd and 3rd place going to when i saw Ours 2 years ago) it was just so raw, honest, emotional, etc.

i also found out that he's on the neverending white lights cd so i'm definitely going to have to put effort into finding it. (he performed the song and it was amazing)

it was completely refreshing to finally see a performance that was absolutely honest and from the heart and didn't feel so contrived (ahem). but anyway, i'm not in the midst of a post-concert depression so boo for that. :(

I've been trying to make it to one of their shows since like 2001 or 2002 . . . missed them every time, and they even come out here like once a year or more. :(

he was just doing a solo mini tour i think. the last date of the tour was in akron, ohio and we ended up going. we decided to go that morning and drive 3 hours and it was sooooooooooooo worth it. all of the stuff from the new album was incredible, he said that these were the last acoustic shows because he feels the band is really good at this point or something. we got to talk to him for a while after that show and he was like the coolest person i've met in my life.

oh yeah he said the new cd will come out early next year and they probably will do a full band tour in like 6 months, siiiiiiiiiiiigh. :(

here's some pictures from the akron show:

yeah, a bunch of songs on the new cd are songs they've been performing for years like "god only wants you" which is like all falsetto basically. umm i think he said they might put "i heard you singing" in there, the tribute to jeff buckley, but he wasn't sure yet.
