welllll...i've read about studies that show that keeping fish lowers blood pressure and helps you anti-stress. but fish are floaty and swimmy and just looking at them makes you feel weightless kind of thing. i guess you could say that establishing a good healthy relationship with any pet would make you feel happy inside! thus keeping a cat you love would make you happy, and happier is healthier.

you could try that, and keep on taking adorable pics like the one you've put up here :love:

Pets keep you company. They will also make your mother become all weird and annoying. If I here the names "poopy woopy, pookie, lil goooga fbsebfsdbgbeug" again I just might snap. *twitch*

If my Dad can buy a kitten because it was cute and fluffy and was going to be put down then saying pets lower stress will definately work.

Once you can get your Dad to hold a kitten, its practically already yours.

My cousin, when he wanted a dog, did some research, and composed a letter on all the positive outcome and good reasons to own a dog. He sent it to his dad, and after years and years of asking, that letter convinced them to buy him a dog.

My dogs name is not "pookie." Furthermore when it is said in a baby voice and the dog is fed treats for just literally walking and praised for it, it makes me a little frustrated.

I'm going to run an idea by my mom (who also wants a cat, but has long ago given up on trying to convince my dad to get one). I think I might print out an article about how having a pet reduces stress levels, and just leave it lying around. With the schoolyear approaching, having that in the back of my dad's mind might help. :mrgreen:
