I love the abrupt drum thing in the song. I think that it's a highlight.

Even though some parts are I suppose "badly assembled" I appreciate the fact that the band is trying to do something a little different and rougher. At some points it actually does make the song better and more unique.

Well, if Where Are You is the weakest track on the album...then the rest of the cd must be flawless, cause I played the song in my car, and it makes me crazy behind the wheel LMAO

89X had it but their kind of both Canada and Us (Windsor/Detroit)

it's in Canada only, it started playing on stations today

july18-19 it's in the states

I would be ecstatic if this is the weakest track on the CD. I don't particularly like it, but it's not something I will vomit at (case in point, on the rare occasions I do listen to Gravity, track 5 mysteriously disappears :wtf:

). So yay for that.

It's a shame that one of the positives though is that I don't hate the song.

I said this on the hub, but not here, so... I think the choppiness of the song might come from being fans of SOAD (unless I'm on crack and remembering band members say they like them even though they never have).

I think that's a good assessment...although I'd give it more like a C. It seems like Raine still has interesting things on his mind, but I think the lyrics just sound weird and cliched which is never really good. I think this song is about as good as the worst stuff on Gravity. I can sort of see why it was released as a single even though its technically about religeon you could see people just remembering the chorus and thinking it has a similar theme to Somewhere Out There, which did very well as a single. I think this was one of the worst clips, and the song as a whole really isn't much better. Granted I understand full songs can hold surprises....but I never understood the arguement that when I used to criticize the clips, people would go "hey they're just clips you're an idiot!!". The way I figure if you hear a clip of a song that shows you a verse and a chorus and maybe a piece of a bridge, you've esentially heard the song, give or take some lyrics and possibly a solo. When have OLP ever broke the trend of the usual verse-chorus-verse-bridge-chorus or something close to that extent. Anyways I just thought I'd point out my line of thinking....the album I'm still looking forward to even though I very much disliked some of the clips. It seems like forever until it comes out, but I'm still looking forward to it.

Oh god, don't ever say that again, my hate for S.O.A.D goes beyond belief (partially because the radiostations around here play them practically every other song I can't turn on the radio without hearing BYOB).

Anyways, this is probably the only song that it is really choppy, I mean SOAD have some choppy songs, but their songs have more of a funk-rock feel to them so it fits the songs a lot better. "Where Are You" goes from a rock-punkish sound to an anthem, then back to a rock-punk sound again. Personally, if you're going to put an anthem like chorus in a song like that I've always thought it fits best right at the end of the song.

I dislike SOAD, too, but that doesn't mean that it couldn't be their influence on the band making the song choppy.
