okay I just heard this song..
I liked when they were singing "This could be the best day of our life" better then "Where Are You".. This Version has to grow on me.. As Jeni said I like the other version better.
Also has someone been listening to U2 much
I am glad they left in the intro with Steve/Jeremy
I am looking forward to seeing them live(32 more days).. hate any of you going to Live 8 in Canada..

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. i guess i really was psychic when i said this album will not be good a couple of months ago. oh well. i'm still excited and will buy it the day it comes out, not gonna lie.
i heard this on the radio actually, it was the "catch of the day", everyone at work probably thought i was nuts because i just stopped what i was doing and was staring at the radio.

okay listening to the interiew with Jemery.( Power 07)
only a few minutes, but basically said what people have been saying on here..
recorded over 2-1/2 years in 7 diferent cities( basically in everyone's home). had 45 songs, demos, ideas etc and chose 12.. Out of the seesions maybe had 2 songs they really loved and went from there..
title deals with band turmoil then a political statement. He said there were times they wanted to kill each othe then times they wanted to hug each other..
that was basically all they talked about.. sorry but I can't tape stuff off the computer or I would of ..
after commerical said that people were comparing it to Naveed and Jeremy said he doesn;t see it..

Don't like it, didn't expect to from the clips.
Of all the clips (including the previous version of this song) this was the worst one, so no surprise.
Perhaps it's because I know they changed the chorus, but it still sounds so choppy and badly assembled, especially after the bridge where they just jump back into the "come on" and then the chorus out of nowhere. That part probably sounds the worst out of the song. The could have cut the entire final chorus and the song would sound better.
My major gripe is that I have NO idea why this song is the first single from this album. Once again, judging by the clips, the only song this makes a better single than is "Wipe That Smile", IF that. Picture, Future Blame Us, Angels, and to a lesser extent, Don't Stop and World on a String, seem like far better songs and better singles. All these songs are catchy and have flow and rhythm, this sounds like something they made up in soundcheck and never polished.
As for the positives, I will admit it's better than the worst from Gravity, but not near as good as the best from Gravity. Also, it is energetic which will work in the live setting, and Duncan's bass can actually be heard. I will also admit i have been subconsciously singing along, but let's not go there
I give my thumbs down, but it's nothing unexpected for this song. I still am looking forward to the album, as Angels Losing Sleep, Picture, Will The Future Blame Us?, and Don't Stop still have me excited and hopeful.

It's not bad.... i mean it could be way worse. Still, I don't understand why they alter things to the point where there so chopped up that it doesn't even sound like a song that flows anymore. This is no surprise, but I loved the holiday greeting version of "Best Days", and then the promosquad clip "flowed like water". This however.. I dunno, just doesn't sound right. They (Sony) always seems to choose the worst singles though. I mean, they could have released "All For You", or "Not Enough", or even "Story About A Girl" from Gravity but instead they chose "Somewhere Out There", "Innocent", and the last one is so bad that it's not even worth mentioning... Oh well, I guess i'm still optimistic about the album...

after they played where are you, they somehow got into talking about jeremy's balls, which lasted four minutes. jer was going on about how he might have been sexually abused when he was in the hospital without knowing it. "just because they're the size of oranges!"

you have to listen to it sometime! it's absolutely ridiculous!
ok I have a new moniter... it's huge and flat screen. I like it.
But then I come on here, and still read all these posts about nobody liking new songs. You are making my new moniter less special. 19 inches of bullshit is all I see.
Listen people, if you didn't like Gravity, then you should have guessed that you wouldn't like Healthy in Paranoid Times. You don't like the direction, fine. Thankfully they don't write songs for you... cuz if they did I think there would likely be a mass suicide planned on this very board. THe more I read, the more I feel that some of you people just can't handle good music.
For you it has to sound a certain way, or mean a certain thing (or in some cases it has to mean nothing at all) or you'll bitch about it for years. When the album comes out, you people are probably gonna look at the art work and find reasons to hate that too. It's really easy to critisize, but if you can look at the good that comes from things first, you'll shift your thinking and become much more positive people.
Right now most of you are giving off the "this song sucks, I'm doomed" vibe. Maybe the band that has been speaking to you for years has nothing left to say to you... maybe that band has moved on, but you've remained anchored motionless because you're afraid to change or open your mind.... or then again, maybe I'm wrong.
Whoever said the lyrics to Where are You suck should really take a second to try and understand the message the song is conveying. It's an issue of spirituality vs religion, and it's a topic that is so important, especially these days. Raine kept it simple, thankfully. Find spirituality beyond religion... beyond materialism. Many of you completely missed it... probably because it's so simple, that again, you can't handle it.
I remember a few years ago, someone on the CC said they didn't like the Life video because it was "superficial and contrived" ... a dumb comment made by someone who probably looked up random words in the dictionary to sound intelligent... while completely missing the meaning of the video. It's not exactly my favourite video, but it sure as hell wasn't superficial, or contrived of anything rather than simplicity. Listen to the song. That person was probably hoping for Raine to be singing the song shirt-less on top of a nice car with tons of half-naked chicks dancing around, while the rest of the band grinds with them.
I'd like to see a video like that now that I think about it... lol
I hope OLP keep writing music that pisses you guys off... cuz it's actually funny what arguments you come up with. Albums and songs you claim to hate... yet can't stop discussing.
a long post I know...

PS- Suthy-OLP choose singles, not Sony. Also, Not Enough was a single... and All For You had radio play at some point too. Your post doesn't sound very optimistic.
