See, I had wanted to major in Philosophy and then go on to teacher's college, eventually teaching Philosophy, Psychology and possibly a few other courses at the highschool level. But, apparently one can't get into teacher's college with philosophy OR psychology.

But, I've figured out that I can do a medial in Philosophy and History (that's 7 credits each, over 4 years), and take 3 courses in another teachable (English or something else from a list, I haven't decided), and still be able to take at least a few psych courses.

Good job. Wait...you can't get into teachers college with philosophy or psychology? My highschool offers both those subjects. :uhh:

Most highschools do. But as for teacher's college:

Queen's faculty of Education wrote:Two teaching subjects must be selected from Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Dramatic Arts, English, French, Geography, History, Mathematics, Music (Vocal or Instrumental), Native Studies, Physical and Health Education, Physics or Visual Arts. At least five full-year courses are required for the selection of one teaching subject and at least three full-year courses are required for the selection of the other.

So, you can imagine why I was royally pissed/frustrated.

The only bad thing is that I have to take more history courses and less psych courses than I would have liked.

But, I plan on taking quite a few Classics courses (most of which qualify for history majors). Roman and Greek mythology, society, art and culture. :drool:

Native studies? You can teach if you have native studies but not philosphy or psychology?! I don't even think my school offers native studies!

Sometimes I wonder about the requirments for things.

is that specifically queen's teacher's college or all teacher's colleges in general? because i know someone going to york that is majoring in psych, and she is planning on going to teacher's college.
