All of their 3 songs...

This couldn't have gone in an other thread eh?

Indeed, it could have gone under the one Lando put up.....but honestly, our threads go for pages and pages and this is the first new one in awhile. There's just too much clutter when threads go for 10 pages and lose focus on the issue.

THis is just some of my feelings on posting. Don't read it if you aren't interested. I wouldn't mind some feedback to see how people feel about it.

Am I the only one who finds it weird that people get scolded for not reading 15 pages of posts and then sound naive or uninformed when really, smaller but more direct threads are much easier to follow. I know this doesn't apply to all people....but if people get constantly criticized for making new threads they might not post new info as a thread, and in turn, clog up old threads with dozens of topics. I understand that some people post the same news or same topics under numerous threads and its aggravating, but if the news is new, and its OLP related, then who's to say what thread they should put it under. If they feel its worth its own topic then maybe they have the right to post it. Just as the moderators have the right to move it if they feel fit.

I think that an olp show (no matter how long or short it will be) that is being played for a great cause and is going to be on national telivision IS a big enough deal to have its own thread in the olp forum.....am i crazy or does it only make perfect sense?

I think its getting out of hand

this topic is very worthy of its own thread, and i hope we can talk about looking forward to the show leading up to it, and talk about how good it was after in this thread

****so on a lighter note.....im looking forward to this very much....i am excited to hear some full versions of new songs and just to hear and see them play live again...unfortunately i will have to tape the whole thing and watch it after work that day
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

There are two extremes, and both are bad. The first, lack of threads. Put everything in one long thread. This is why I and a lot of other people don't use the CC. The second, too many threads. Expecially about similar subjects. It makes it hard to find something. If you know you read something about a particular thing, and want to look back again because you forgot part of it or something . . . it's not exactly helpful if there are 5 or 8 threads that seem like they could very possibly be where you read it.

Also, moderators can split existing topics into two, but they cannot join two topics. So we don't always have the ability to move stuff if we feel fit, especially when it is in a new topic.

And I would've put this in the news forum, if I had found out about it first.

Oh I see Faninor. I keep thinking you guys are god, but really you're just people with no special powers. How disappointing.

I'm joshing with you guys Nikki.

I was being sarcastic about the god thing.........I tend to have a self depreciating sense of humour so I was basically saying I expected too much from you guys and that talking openly is much better.

As Ash would say... YOU GOT THAT!!!

One of the boys said they are only playing 2 songs. A little less than I thought but it would still be nice to get another good quality live bootleg.

From http://www.chartattack.com/damn/2005/06/2106.cfm

Taggart said OLP immediately said yes when they got the initial call, but due to the scrambling by the organizers they didn't know what was going to happen until the last minute.

"We found out that it was going to happen about two weeks ago and we found out we were doing it a few days ago," he said. "We weren't even sure until we got [to the Mod Club] and heard the actual line-up that it was going to happen.

"We're so happy to do it. It was the least we could do. At the same time, our record is coming out and we haven't rehearsed together as a band so we're gonna get together a day or two before, it is only two songs. We'll make it work."

Interesting.

Wonder if they'll play new songs or old ones to please the crowd.
