world on a string's beginning is different, but its got a swagger to it and I began to appreciate it more after a few listens...

I still don't like Best day all that much. Its my least favourite of the tracks. The only thing that will save Wipe that Smile will be that amazing guitar solo. That shit rocked...

You know, I've always thought of OLP as sort of a modern-day Led Zeppelin. Obviously not as huge, but I see great similarities in the arc of their albums.

Led Zeppelin I/Naveed
Both were carried by a bass heavy song (Dazed & Confused/Naveed), and established the artist.

Led ZeppelinII/Clumsy
More of a progression, but also an extension of the first album. Many similarities, but many differences as well.

III/Happiness
More experimental, with lots of different ideas floating around.

IV/Spiritual Machines
Considered by many to be the band's best albums.

Houses of the Holy/Gravity
Well, I know Houses of the Holy was vastly underrated, and I kind of thing Gravity is too. Both solid albums, but also vastly different from the previous effort.

So that brings us to the next record. And I really do think it'll be like Physical Grafitti. Lots of different ideas and directions, and just really different from what's been done before.

That's how I've always seen their albums, and I'm sure there are a lot more similarities between the two, but I don't feel like discussing them, it's 4:40 in the morning.
This is my story both humble and true,
Take it to pieces and mend it with glue.

i see Kermit is contradicting himself, first he says he totally dislikes Gravity, then later on he names song he likes, and he names like 11 songs lol...anyway

Gravitys the only different album, i mean its the first CD with them on the front cover, instead of some abstract artwork or photograph. that suggested a big change.
im fond of Gravity, and apparently thats been a sin over the passed 2 years. its ace

i dont personally think the new stuff sounds ANYTHING like Gravity, its completely different, if anything it sounds like something they wouldve made after Clumsy and before Happiness...
its alot more RAW sounding so far. where as Gravity sounded like it had all ran through the studio a million times.
lyrically, the new stuff is spot on i think from what we've been given

lol @ Led Zeppelin comparison

I played a couple of the songs for a friend of mine when she was listening to my MP3 player and after hearing 2 clips she said "Wow. This could have been on Gravity" :D

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

I just said that I like BBTS, and that Story About a Girl is okay. I severely dislike the album version of Not Enough.

The only song on Gravity I really dislike is Do You Like It. I never, ever liked that one and always skip it. I like the other songs, and even love A Story About A Girl.

Funny how some people think OLP are too hardcore while other people think they've degressed. :freak: I was just talking to my friend yesterday who I took to a concert with back in 2003, and she still thinks OLP's hardcore...but then again, she likes people like 50 Cent...go figure.
And if I don't make it known that
I've loved you all along
Just like sunny days that
We ignore because
We're all dumb and jaded
And I hope to God I figure out
What's wrong

And though the hum and sway gets me down

Woohoo!!! Another person who likes "Best Day"! I think it's my favourite song now next to "Angels Losing Sleep"...a far cry from me not wanting that song on the new album. :freak:

That they are.

yes they certainly are a very good live band- i personally like the not enough version on the album more i think the live one is too fast and raine does not sing the bridge well at all i think thats y there's so much disortion on his voice- i really hope they keep the guitar solo in wipe that smile that was awesome live just steve and jeremy rockin out- i hope they don't do wat they did in story about a girl and cut to solo to about 2 seconds- that could have been a nice little instrumental part but it was so brief
