I always assumed BBTS was about an affair.... but I've never heard it mentioned anywhere, and I don't really want to accuse Raine of infedelity, so I'm gonna not talk about that anymore.

An affair and a marriage falling apart aren't exactly topics foreign to eachother...

Last time I heard Gravity was about a week ago, I just played Innocent, Story About a Girl and BBTS. It's not that I HATE the album, it's just that it's too different. I mean, Gravity is the first full-length OLP CD I bought and it introduced me to the band as a whole.

Bring Back the Sun is about a rainy day *nods* lol. You don't neccessairly have to experience something in order to write about it.

Sure, both are about marital problems but there is a big difference between stressing over bills (and other small stuff) and cheating on your spouse.
And if I don't make it known that
I've loved you all along
Just like sunny days that
We ignore because
We're all dumb and jaded
And I hope to God I figure out
What's wrong

What if he's writing about someone cheating on their spouse with a bill. You ever think about that?!

BBTS was a song about apologies.. Soozy can back me up on this one..

at the 2002 Manchester show he said something along the lines as it was a song about a relationship.. Trying to find greener pastures etc.. thinking you can do better when at the end of the day it is all bullshit..

basically he said it was a song about having it all and thinking you could do better.. then realizing you made a mistake and ask for forgiveness. whether it is about him is another story..

that is why this song moves me. It is the best *I'm sorry* I ever heard..

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

i think that is a good explanation of bbts which i think is one of their best songs period, not just the best on gravity- i really love the live version- i also have to agree i think i, along with a lot of us, got caught up in the negativity of gravity its really not a terrible album at all . . . .just not one that showcases the bands best points and strengths- and i think someone asked the question does anyone like gravity better than the new stuff?? i would say yes so far . . .i think about 2 of the 7 are good, with angels being the best by a landslide- even though a song like say "not enough" isn't a paritcularly "great" song by OLP standards, its still pretty good and the bridge is very emotional and powerful- and "story about a girl" and "all for you" are pretty darn good- even the worst of gravity (in my opinion SOT and MOS), is better than a couple of the new tracks like best day and the new wipe that smile- and not to forget the new and really horribly disimproved "not afraid"- but again thats just my take- i know they're just previews . . .so i'll hope for the best on the album

I like Not Enough A LOT. But I don't think the album version does it justice. It is a million times better live.

Hmm...I really hated "Best Day" at first but it's really growing on me. The chorus went from sounding really dumb to sounding pretty catchy. :freak:

Everything from Gravity is better live. Except Made of Steel.

The solo in Not Enough live is amazing.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

I like most of Gravity. I don't think I'll ever like Made of Steel, and I have no idea why they picked it for a single. The promotion for that album was absolutely horrid. I didn't like SOT for a loooong time, but that was because I heard it too much. I listened to it after a long time of not hearing it, and it's really pretty decent. My favourites are Do You Like It, and the last 4 songs.

As for the new stuff, when I first heard them I thought they were decent, except for the beginning of World on a String, which I find terrible. But now I really genuinely enjoy all of the clips. And from the video of World on a String, I think it'll be an excellent song.
This is my story both humble and true,
