CONCERTS

It has nothing to do with being fair or anything like that, but when you are in a concert and all you can see is the head and shoulders of every guy in front of you its frustrating. At that point, what is it exactally that you paid for? to stand on the tips of your toes to attempt to see a glimpse of the stage for 2 hours? thats just not fun.
And no, there isn't anything that really can be done about it but it is one of the most annoying things about being on the floor of a concert.

it just looks dumb wearing a shirt that says "our lady peace" at an our lady peace concert. Brent I think you are just a bit ignorant to realize very few people wear the bands shirt to the concert and those people to do so to make it seem like they are a bigger fan.

I could care less if people think I am wearing a bands shirt to their show to make it seem like I am a bigger fan than the next guy. That's not why I wear their shirt.

There's no assigned seating or standing spots, so why should a person of any height short or tall give up their spot that they paid good money for?

It's easy to say that stuff when you're tall, but when you're 5'4" and someone 6'4" stands in front of you, and you paid the same price for tickets, it's really infuriating.

First off, a lot of shows around here are GA... at least the ones I want to go to are. Therefore, there's no choice in the matter, so I go early. Even when I go insanely early, I still end up behind people sometimes (for instance, at Silverchair, there were kids that somehow snuck in a side door after getting there just minutes before they let us in. We were outside in line ALL day, yet these kids were in front of us... then there was Rochester where we were the absolute front people in line, yet poor Melissa didn't get a spot on the barricade because so many people were there who got let in early and didn't even have to wait outside... and Villanova, the entire CAT was in there before us even though we were first again).

There's also the fact that even when there's seats, it's not always stadium seating, and you still can't see over the people's heads in front of you.

In conclusion, they should give short people stilts at the door at every concert.

Stilts would be a good plan, but all I'm saying is, if it were ever changed around to where tall people would have to go to the back, they'd be complaining because they can't see or have to be really far away from the stage to accomodate all the really short people. I'm not even all that tall, about average for a guy, but I was short once too and I understood how it works so I knew there was no point in complaining. I would just move to a spot where I could see.

I don't know how concerts are where you live, but around here moving's not really an option. When you get a spot, you're pretty much stuck there.

oh and this whole tall people thing...i'm short and it gets sooo frustrating when you can't see a thing. i'm not saying all tall people should stand at the back, but if you see a short person struggling to see behind you, just let them in front. it really makes no difference to you and a HUGE difference to them.

and one more thing...something that wasn't on that list, if you plan of talking through out the WHOLE concert...LEAVE!! omg, at the straylight run concert, there were these 2 girls in front of me who just talked the whole entire time, through every single song. which wouldn't of been that big of a problem if i wasn't trying to see through their heads, so every time they talked they moved so i couldn't see a thing. i kept switching spots with my b/f so i could see, but NOTHING. it was frustrating. :cuss:

Worse then talking throughout a show is people who SIT throughout a show.. Look if you want to sit, that is fine. Majority of people at a rock concert are up and dancing, singing etc.. I saw INXS with my friend many many moons ago and because we were dancing the guy behind us kept threaten to have us removed from the arean cause he wanted to sit..

When I saw OLP in Ottawa in 2000. I was in the stands.. Everyone around us was up and dancing. This girl behind me kept bitching everytime I got up. She could of moved over 1 seat and saw perfectly.. She kept spilling her beer on me, pulling my hair, etc. It was so annoying.. Cause teh people in front of us were up.. During the show-Raine came out into the crowd. He stopped in front of our section and said This isn;t a funeral, it;s a rock concert you can get up. IF you remember during Teardrop/Hope he came along the audience for people to sing..

That is something that always annoyed me.. If you want to sit throughout the show fine. That deosn;t mean you have to make it bad for those who choose to stand.. they have just as much right to stand as you have to sit. If nobody else is standing I tend to sit out of respect. If people are stadning I will stand also.. That is themain reason I love being on the floor.

oh...i didn't get there until 15 mins before straylight run came on. but talking during opening acts is ok. i mean no one is really there for them. but talking during the actual headliner band is sooooooooo annoying!!
