I thought "dean" right away too when I heard the title.
also, I agree that there is no way she's killing Draco (at least not in book 6). The balance between him and Harry is WAY too central to the weave of the story. I'd go so far as to say that it would be tantamount to killing Harry.

Okay, I have to say this.
Book 6 and Book 7 are all about the war. If you haven't figured that out then you should stick to the movies. Rowling has said that Book 6 and 7 are going to be like a continuous story in two parts. So with the war and the Order and all, that means a lot of battles or showdowns or whatever will happen. Think of the Snake and Mr. Weasley.
So everyone related to either side is likely to be in jeopardy.
Before the order was released Rowling dropped hints and said "a fan of Harry's will die" and that was a monumental part of the last book. In fact, the rumors surrounding who it would be made it even more climatic. This case is different though. They have started a war so people will die. Lots of them I'm sure. Major and Minor. In fact, muggles are supposed to start to notice Voldemorts return. So yeah, lots of shit is going to go down. The thing is, I don't think a characters death is going to have the same impact in these books as it did in the last one. It's going to be differnt situations. If that makes sense.
Of course, this book isn't going to be one big death-fest but it'll be more emotional then the last one and Harry's going to go through a lot more angst again, but I think he'll grow up a bit too.
The other thing is, in my opinion Harry won't die in the 7th book. I don't think Rowling will kill him. That doesn't mean he will survive, but I don't think he'll get killed.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

Uh oh, now everyone is getting all serious
I was just throwing the Draco idea out there ..
I guess we'll find out soon enough.

i dunno. i don't think harry will die either, because according to the prophecy, either voldemort or harry will die, and if voldemort lives and harry dies then voldemort will probably come to power, and it's probably safe to bet that that won't happen because it's a really bad way to end a series. but jk rowling keeps trying very hard not to say that harry will live in the end, so what's going to happen is probably going to be really unexpected and probably something most people won't be able to guess.
also, yeah, you can expect a lot of people to die now the second war's started, but you also have to keep in mind that the book is narrated by harry and the readers see everything from his personal view. so if, say, ron, hermione, or hagrid dies, i think it'll probably have a bigger impact than if someone else dies
oh, wait. maybe it's not dean after all. i dunno, he is half-blood, though he always thought he was muggle-born, because his father never told his mother that he was a wizard, but on jkrowling.com, jk rowling says that she sacrificed dean's history for neville's, and that dean's history will probably never make it into the books.

Dean isn't really a major character so I doubt he would be the half blood prince. It has to be someone else I'm thinking. Who else is a half blood though.
Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf
Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...
Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...
So glad you could stay
Forever
He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand
You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..
So glad you could stay
Forever

ooooh maybe! he is half-blood! let's see, hagrid's half-wizard, half-giant. i have no idea what dumbledore is, or lupin, or wormtail. i dunno, can't really think of anyone else
also, i don't think i remember reading anything about the half-blood prince being a major character. there's some speculation that it's a brand new character, but even if that's true, the character still won't be a major one if we've never met him before.

Maybe he's the one that dies in this book.
