Bands you'd like other people to hear.

Post by Korzic »

I'm always on hunt for new quality music to listen to, but I figure I'm not alone. So I thought I'd start this thread. Everyone's heard of OLP (duh) Metallica Greenday Blink etc. I'm not looking for your favourite band here. What I'm more interested in is the less well known stuff, be they local or just a national band that other people around the world may not have heard of. So take this band, and pick your favourite song from them and list it here. So that the whole of this community can encounter some new music. For example some people may not have heard of Powderfinger. I know Sean has, but there will be some people who haven't. Anyways... here is mine. *EDIT* Also include genre as well

Powderfinger - Love Your Way (alt rock)
The Superjesus - Everybody Calls Me Lonely (alt rock)
Plunja - Less Than Zero (alt rock)

PS

Please let us know if you're on the hub or not so that we might be able to leech these songs of you ;) Or if you aren't and you wanna link us. Please do as well :D

Everyone should listen to Age Of The Electric. Its a canadian band, not as big as MG or OLP, but fantastic. Todd Kerns .

They're broken up now, but still worth a listen.

Everyone should listen to smile empty soul, i'm sure a lot of you probably know them already, but listen to silhouettes by them is great.

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

Dogs Die In Hot Cars - especially the following songs:
Godhopping
Pastimes & Lifestyles
Glimpse at the Good Life

I doubt there will be live boots around, but don't get them as when I saw them they were a big meh. Go for the album versions.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Wishbone Ash. They are truly amazing. If you just want songs: Insomnia, Haunting Me, Helpless.

And Down. Down are a little heavy, but the guy can really sing, and the band isnt like your average metal. Very tasteful. Stone the Crow, Beautifully Depressed, Ghosts Along the Mississippi.

Sad Panda

3 of my friends are in a band and recently made an independent label CD. Even though their style and musical depth does not match mine, I must say their CD is very good.

The Trews. I know they're getting well known in Canada but I don't think they've hit the States yet.
