Last Saturday: Cave In & Converge. Opening bands were a bunch of hxc bands that I've never heard of and would never like, but Cave In was AMAZING. They played some new songs, which sounded really really good. There was a huge fucking PILEUP of kids fighting during Converge when some kid suckerpunched another kid in the glasses.

Last night: Maverick, A Loss for Words, the Cadence, & The Recieving End of Sirens. Most of them are screamo bands, and the venue was gay because they wouldn't let anybody dance or roughouse. They were really anal. TREOS is The Lido Venice's rival band; they kicked the lead singer out because he wouldn't drop out of college, from what I hear. The Lido Venice is better.

The lot behind the Magic Bag is now under new management, which means they're gouging you for $5 to park. There's some old man just sitting there demanding money and has a sign telling you to pay. I think he might just be homeless and found a classic way to make a quick buck, but he might be legit.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

No, they definitely charge for the lot behind the place. I paid $5 to park behind the Magic Bag to go see The Hentchmen last Saturday.

Wait, where do you work? My girlfriend works for the AATA and made me spend a good amount of time at the art fair.

Yeah.

Ours were amazing but the venue was annoying because people smoked non-stop and it was impossible to breathe. But as for the concert holy shit.

It started at 9 and there was like a big tarp in front of the stage and they just jammed for a half hour and finally Jimmy started to scream while there were lights flashing at shit  If I closed my eyes I could almost believe I was seeing Jeff Buckley. After that the stage thing dropped and they played for another two hours. Some of it was Jimmy solo and some of it was the band. They played basically all of Distorted Lullabys and a few off Precious. A whole lot of new songs that sound incredible. He introduced one song by saying "This is a song about Jeff". This guy idolizes Buckley which is cool but it gets very creepy. His moans/groans/screams are so identical and many of the new songs remind of many of the unreleased songs from the Sin-E deluxe or Sketches. He closed with "Someone to Die For" from the Spiderman 2 soundtrack which was apparantly written for him by Chris Cornell and I think a Buckley cover last but I am not sure.

This probably the third best show I have ever seen the only thing I dont get is the gothic makeup?? Anyone know whats up with that?
