The Republicans beat the Democrats to Medicare reform. This was one of Bush's campaign promises and strengthens his image with seniors. This is a milestone for Bush since Republicans aren't known for policies like this.

Too bad his approval rating is only 50%... oh wait nevermind, I think the last election showed that you don't even need to have 50% to win. You keep saying that the democratic candidates aren't good enough to compete with Bush, but the fact is I don't think they care who is in, as long as it isn't Bush.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

His approval rating is only 50% but have you seen how he matches up to the Democratic candidates?? Gephart is the closest and he trails by something like 13%. Just because only 50% approve of him doesn't mean they think one of the "clowns" can do better. Nice try but not a valid argument J-Neli.

lol when people try and use the economy as a reason to vote for bush it's a joke. You guys were MUCH better off with Clinton. and i don't know about America, but in Canada the right wing is ussually sposed to be BETTER for the economy. As for seniors, why bar them from buying cheaper drugs from Canada if you were realy worried about them? It's still american companies owning them in most cases anyways. I also find it a joke how some politicians spoke of using Canadian drugs as risky, like we were a third world country or seomthing and our drugs might not reach American Pharmaceutical standards.......except in most cases Canada is in most cases much stricter with our laws. Even The govenor of ND has admitted it and is excited about trading with Winnipeg companies

The economy was on the down when Clinton left! Thats fact look it up. Clinton benefited from the previous Bush's (and Reagans) successes. Compound that with the terrorist attacks which threw out economy in the toilet for over a year. Bush is bringing it back now. I don't see where you're goin with your argument. The economy is booming. Its making record gains UNDER BUSH!! The same can't be said for Clinton!

it was going down the shitter before the attacks. My statements stands for Canadian drugs, and Bush has been making enemies and antagonizing the rest of the world since he got into office.

I know and how long was Bush in office before the attacks? 8 months. It was still being influenced by Clinton policies, bills, etc. Bush has stabilized that in an uncertain world and its booming! You have not disproved that and you can't!

either way it doesn't matter, besides, how many more people do you have in your country? And how many major businesses do you have? It's kinda hard to compete when you got someone like america RIGHT underneath you

War equates money. Your economical "rise" has come at a price, though I know you don't see it that way.

Don't try to debate with him, he won't listen and will just say you're wrong.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I'm not gonna say hes wrong but I'm not gonna say hes right either. This is a huge debate in economics. Some argue that its good, while others argue that its really bad. Its not factual to say one way or another. It all depends on how the people respond to it. Since 50% of the people are against the war and don't support it the theory is that its bad for the economy because people faith isn't there. They don't take risks that they would if they thought it was good or right. People save more rather than spend because they fear that they may need that money later.

So my position to THIS war is that its bad for the economy. You are free to try and disprove that.

The economy is not only about people, but also about companies. And they have lots of revenue because the army needs supplies, weapons, etc. Plus, American businesses get most contracts to rebuild Iraq, which is very lucrative for the American economy.

This is true but does their revenue offset the $100 billion or more that the US has spent and is gonna spend before this is over. I find that very had to believe.

Canada's economy was actually growing faster than any of the other G8 nations as of earlier this year.
