Freshman Fish

Post by Odio La Cabra »

Okay, bit of background first, i got into the competing marching band at the high school, so I go to band camp everyday. It was there that I discoverd I was in a Section where I was the only freshman (the other girl dropped out) in the middle of 8 older, more experienced guys who do nothing but practice their damn saxaphone.

Unfortunatly for me...I spent most of my summer attempting to get a life (still don't have one) so I ended up wasting my time and not practicing or leanring any of my music. Therefore They are better than me.

So here's my question: How Do I survive in on of the school's roughest and most prestigious program in the middle of older upperclassmen who are all male and all a helluva lot better than me?

and another: how they hell am i supposed to survive high school as a freshman in the first place?!

well first of all it isn't that bad in highschool trust me, secondly it's your own fault for not practising

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

The freshmen class at my high school this year all acted like they fucking owned to place and so we, the upperclassmen, tooled on them as much as we possibly could. So, the trick to not getting tooled on is to NOT act like a little shit.

Practice. Now.

And don't let the guys know that you are aware that they're better than you. I'm not saying you should act like you are the greatest, but a little bit of confidence never hurt anyone.

when i was a freshman we acted like we were the shit because we were the shit. the upperclassmen would try and hurt us in football practice but they could not because we had our own team. secondly, we had all the talent, so they needed us. even in the off season, when we would play flag football they stooped down to some cheap things, but in the end we ALWAYS prevailed because they were truely inferior.

as for advice for my wn niece....NO, GET SOMEONE ELSE TO GIVE YOU ADVICE.
Whenever death may surprise us,
let it be welcome
if our battle cry has reached even one receptive ear
and another hand reaches out to take up our arms.

Nobody's gonna miss me, no tears will fall, no ones gonna weap, when i hit that road.
my boots are broken my brain is sore, fer keepin' up with thier little world, i got a heavy load.
gonna leave 'em all just like before, i'm big city bound, your always 17 in your hometown

At my school that wasn't the case at all; the freshmen are ALL talk.

And remember: the purpose of high school is to make you feel as bad about yourself as is absolutely possible.

Or you can just not care, and have an entire happy and enjoyable experience... hanging around these parts you wouldn't know it was possible, but it's quite easy.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

Because it's an awesome school. Trust me, I think Brock is horrible, but that's just cause I live 5 mins from it, and so I'm used to it.
