The Tea Party become producers?

Post by ajk »

First off, does anybody know when the new Tea Party record is supposed to drop? I'm curious to see how the Bob Rock experiment goes...

Second, anybody hear about the Tea Party's foray into production? Turns out that the boys are going to help out Scott Stapp of Creed in his solo debut. That should be interesting....

Oh yeah, more important than everything that i've already mentioned is this... Creed has broken up.

The Tea Party Record(the seven circles) is suppose to come out sometime later this summer I believe. I know they are doing a handful of dates in July
check out their site. www.teaparty.com
they are playing about a dozen shows.

I don't know about the Scott Strapp CD though. I know that Jeff has produced songs on the TP records. So I wouldn't be surprised. Just like I am not surprised Raine did some producing on Avril's CD.

Jeff Martin working with Creed? Something just doesn't seem right.
Can't wait to see The Tea Party live again.
I hope Bob Rock's doesn't fuk around with their sound.
Could this be a break out album in terms of fans? I hope so.
They derserve it.
Go see the White Ribbon concert if in Toronto.

wow this doesn't bode well for the tea party. First working with bob rock, then creed. Bob rock is exactly who Creed shoudl work with.

That's what I thought too.

But apparently Stapp's working with Hip Hop producer Areilus (Spelling..) too.

I've got nothing against hip-hop, but Scott Stapp? C'mon really...

Scott Stapp is probably one of the least hip-hop men in the world.

The following is taken from chartattack.com

The White Ribbon Concert isn't the only thing Martin and his band have been busy with. They've been working on their long-awaited new album, Seven Circles, which Martin predicts will be released in August or late September.

This time around, the band spent a lot of time preparing before heading into the studio. As a way of distancing themselves from the material, the trio enlisted the help of legendary producer Bob Rock for part of the record. Martin admits that he learned some valuable tricks of the trade from Rock. But even with producers like Rock and Gavin Brown (who Martin describes as a "song doctor" who removes any "pompous" aspects of the band's music) working on the album, it was still a difficult one to create.

"This record, more than any other one that I've done, was definitely a labour of love. It was two years in the making," he says. "There were just a lot of things that went on in our own personal lives and the life of our band; a lot of hurdles to overcome. So this record is totally from my heart and the band's heart and it's the biggest one we've ever done.

"It's very very intense; that's the only way to describe it. The music is everything we've ever done and more. But I think what I'm saying on this record is much more to the point."

Martin also reveals that he does a duet with fellow Canadian Holly McNarland on a track called "Wishing You Would Stay."

"It's sort of the Tea Party's take on the whole Kate Bush/Peter Gabriel thing," Martin says.

Still, don't expect guest singers to frequent Tea Party records (assisting Creed singer Scott Stapp to make a solo record doesn't count). Martin has been making music with his bandmates (drummer and childhood friend Jeff Burrows and bassist/keyboardist Stuart Chatwood) for the past decade and they've become a bit wary of letting others in.

"It's almost like a private boy's club," Martin says. "We love working with other people, but as far as bringing people into our thing, it's always a little strange for us; it's very awkward. The idiosyncrasies that exist between the three of us, it's so strong it's like a brotherhood. So that anyone else that comes into the fold would feel very uncomfortable because they don't really understand the language we're speaking."

The White Ribbon Concert will take place tomorrow (June 8) at the Phoenix in Toronto.

You know, with his ego....I think he would if enough people told him he was good.

Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.
