Radiohead -Paranoid Android / Hitchhikers Guide Ref

Post by liam »

Did anyone read Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and notice the refferences by Yorke to this book in the song Paranoid Android which Douglas Adams' (The author of hitchikers) describes Marvin the Machine as being a Paranoid Anroid. Well in the song Yorke Says

"When I am king, you will be first against the wall"

Adams in his book tells a story about a character who was running to be president and in the book he talks of how the Hitchhikers Guide says that certain machines (i think it was the machines) would be the first against the wall when the revolution begins.

also in the book Adams talking about mice speaks off Myxamatosis,

if you haven't read the book (which is the first in a series of 5 if i'm not mistaken) i reccomend it, its very comical and the movie is due out next year. Now off my my rambling.

Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy = best anything ever.
Just because I am sexy, naked, a bassist, and sporting a top hat doesn't make me Duncan Coutts!

I noticed that as well. It was kinda funny cause I had Radiohead on in the background while I was reading the book and put two and two together.

I've also noticed a reference or two to 1984, such as 2+2=5.

There was already a HG2G movie made a while ago, in the 80's I believe, and it was the crappiest crap that ever crapped.

That book is SO not movie material.

Yeah, I think it was a BBC miniseries. My dad and I had to watch it in sections because it was so horribly bad.

I'll still check out the new one though :)
