music technology help

Post by thirdhour »

I be's stupid and not know how to do stuff...sooo, begging for help here.

I have a song (Lux Aeturna from Requiem for a Dream) that I'm using for a riding sequence. it's 3.54, and it needs to be about 5 minutes long so that i dont get disqualified...i can either chop some off the middle, and put it at the end, loop part of it that repeats itself, or just continue for another minute into the next song on my cd (the main theme that starts with what sounds like a car crash)

I don't know what to do or how to do it...so could someone please please help?

I had to do something like that for a class. I downloaded a program called AudioEdit Deluxe from ZDNet downloads (hotfiles.com), but I'm sure you can find other better programs. Anyway, the program has a feature where you can copy and paste bits of the song together. You highlight what you want, ctrl+c and click where you want it, ctrl+v. I am in no way a music tech expert though.

thank you.

i used sound forge, which i had forgotten that i downloaded the longest time ago. it's far from beautiful, but it works.

i just took the next song, pasted it a bit before the end and mixed the two.
