Joydrop?

Post by the android »

Where are they now? After Viberate they kinda... dropped off the face of the planet. The official website's gone now, too, and even before it was gone they hadn't updated since November 2002.

Rumour has it they broke up. I'm starting to believe that, now that the official site is gone. Too bad, they were my first favourite band :(

yeah, they wee pretty rockin'.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

I remember reading that Tara was putting out a solo record last year. I don't know if she did or didn't. I think I remember reading that they did break up. I tried to back track the info but couldn't find anything. I know they use to be at the same Management company OLP are at.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

Yeah, I figured they had broken up, but I've never heard of a band breaking up so QUIETLY before. There was NO news about the breakup ANYWHERE.

I got an email from their guitarist, Thomas Payne, before the site went down. He said the band was on an indefinite hiatus. Some time has passed, and I'm sure they won't be getting back together. He has a new band though. They're okay.

Sometimes I wanna die was the only song of theirs I heard, but I liked it.

Hey, you know that songwriting contest Raine was supposed to judge? I was reading Canadian Musician, and apparently the (ex-)singer of Joydrop is a finalist.

*loves "Beautiful"* Awesome song. Only one we got down here in the states... and we barely did. Couple of my friends had the album that was on, I borrowed it and wasn't too crazy about it... though my tastes have broadened since then so maybe I would now. Aaaaaaaaaand I'm rambling. I'll stop.
