I need song ideas

Post by Johnny »

Well, as some of you may or may not know. I get to play guitar during for a Graduation later this June. Today, I get a call from one of the graduates. She told me that they habing difficulty on decided on what songs they want me to play for them(WTF) Anyhoo, I now get to choose the songs that I get to play.

I should state that I have no idea what songs I should play. I need two.

This is where you folks come in. I need songs ideas. HELP!

You see someone said 'you could be cheesy' like it was an insult. I think for something like this you should have a sense of cheesiness. I mean, loads of people take highschool very seriously and are going to miss it very much. So I'd say that Green Day's Good Ridance is a nice idea. Then for your second one... hmmm... i'm not sure. I'm trying to think of a classic that the parents would recognize as well. I don't know. How about some Beatles' song?

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

you're right, graduation is a time to be cheesy . . . you should hear the grad song i wrote for my graduating class, cheesiest piece of shite ever written . . . it's just that 'time of your life' has been done at graduations SOOO many times before, it's just become really cliched.

You know on Abbey Road, where it's the medley? It's Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight, and The End. Well at the end it goes *high voice* "And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make." Well, you could like, mix that last part into some other songs, that way the adults have something recognizable too. Just an idea, sorry if it sucks.
This is my story both humble and true,
Take it to pieces and mend it with glue.

Revelation by Dakona, it's a really good song about being at a crossroads in life. The only problem is that no-one (that I know of) has tabbed this song yet, so you'd have to figure that out yourself.
