hey, i'm new to the forum and i was just wondering if any of you have heard any recent news about the new album. I have heard some rumours that it was supposed to come out around jan or feb but i dunno.

I haven't heard anything about their new album yet,but definitely not this month,since there's no promotion by far...Hopefully it will come out after I'm done my finals.

At this point, it's estimated as a Spring/Summer release.

i completely forgot, but on thursday, dave from the edge called jer to congratulate him on olp's juno nominations, and jer told him that we should be hearing new music in the summer.

yeah. "hearing new music in the summer" means they'll release a single in the summer. which means they'll really release a single in late fall/early winter.... which means they'll announce a release date for the end of the year....

then it'll obviously get delayed a couple times. then we'll go from there.

I wonder what they are waiting for...i mean from what i have heard....they finished recording 27 songs and are mixing it now....but i wonder how much mixing there will be with it being recorded "live off the floor"....maybe they are spending time with their families for a couple of months so they can release a single when they are ready for a full fledged tour......i guess we will just have to wait to find out

Maybe it still is early summer and Jer just wasn't sure on the exact release date.

May or June would be nice with a single in April......but a lot of you guys seem to think that OLP likes to pile on the delays.

I think hearing new music in the summer means that the cd is scheduled for then. The single will hopefully be released no more than 4 weeks before the cd is released. But hopefully we'll be able to hear it before then. I just don't want to heard the song on mtv and the radio a lot for a long time, because then it will get old before i get the cd.

Yeah, we should all not get our hopes up. Aim for 2017, so when it gets released in 2009, we'll all be pleasantly surprised.

When Jeremy was talking to Dave from the edge, he said that Raine was really busy with his kid and producing Avril's album, so that's probably why the new album keeps getting pushed back.

personally, i think it's hilarious that everyone is cracking jokes about how not to expect the album til 2017 yadda yadda yadda...

have we forgotten that olp put out albums in 99, 00, and '02. That's pretty darn quick. Let them have a bit of free time people!

Yeah, see, I'd stop harping on this if it hasn't happened with everything they've done since Gravity. Hell, they pushed back Spiritual Machines in the States which probably fucked them over pretty badly with those record sales. Then they pushed back the live album a few times, then God knows how many times the pushed back the DVD.

Here's a wild idea. Instead of running their mouths off about when something will come out, they should just tell us about the album release date a month or two before it's scheduled to come out, so we don't hear Jeremy telling us late 2003, then making us wait until early 2005. There's a wild idea.
