Why is the Live DVD so friggin expensive?

Post by Corey »

Seriously 35-40$ or whatever it is. That's highway robbery. All other bands' DVD's are 10-15$. What's the big deal with OLP's DVD? Is it worth it? Not like I can find it in any stores anyways. I think I'll have to order it online.

Are you talking US or Canadian $$ ?

My friend found copies in Vancouver or Victoria for £9 - which is a total bargain compared to how much DVDs cost over here (£20 full price though they're often reduced)

PS I can't be bothered to do the maths but one pound = about 1.6 US dollars and 2.25 Canadian.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

eeek - that is expensive - probably cos it hasn't been released in the US and is only available as an import (though it's not that far to import it). I think it costs that much if you get it from Amazon over here.

Just order it online from Canada and it will probably be cheaper :)

Yeah, hold off on it. You've seen OLP before, it's not much different.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

In a couple of weeks or months it will be probably on sale, with a free copy of the live cd.

I don't think they've announced an American date yet. It might not be released in the US... :freak:

It's not expensive for us in the US if you get it from amazon.ca... I got mine for about $23.50 US. It's just if you buy it from amazon.com that it's expensive, cos it's an import. Which is also the reason you can't find it in any stores. It hasn't been released here... and who knows if it ever will be. Just order it from amazon.ca.

Oh, and personally, I say it's worth getting. The concert is absolutely beautiful (love OLP's lighting... and it transfers great to DVD), and the extra stuff's good, too. :)

For anyone who got the fixed DVD, did you have to bring in a receipt?

I thought I threw mine away so I just shrugged it off and dealt with the glitch but while I was cleaning my drawers, I found the receipt! Plus, I cannot stand the pause at "The Birdman"...hopefully, I'll still be able to get the new one.

I was talking to the morons at HMV and they said that they'll need a recopt to varify that you bought it there. Which is all fine and dandy, but at the time I thought I through out mine. So I basically said "its not like I knew it was going to be defictive so why would I have kept the recipt" and then they said to just bring it in and harrass their manager.
