New Blink 182

Post by Joey »

So has anyone picked up their latest cd yet?
It's amazingly good, very different from previous blink stuff ..
Lots of emotion in this one ..
There's a lady that reads letters written by Marks Grandparents that they had written to each other during the war at the end of the song called Violence that leads into the song called Stockholm Syndrome.. Mark writes about his Dad in the song Go ..

And the booklet is awesome .. each song there's a little note by each of them about what the song is about, how they wrote it etc ... and 2 ultrasound pictures of Travis's baby boy and Tom's baby girl ..

Robert Smith from the Cure did some of the vocals in the song All of This .. he did them in England then sent the vocals back to Blink .. very cool ..

I'm very impressed
I like this side of Blink ..

My favorite song is Down ..
Feeling This is cool .. "This was the first song that we wrote for the record. Tom and I went into different rooms, and he wrote the verses and I wrote the choruses, wthout discussing the subject ahead of time. It turns out we both wrote about sex. Two different sides, the passionate, lustful site (verses) and the romantic side (choruses).

Go buy it

In fact I already went out shopping with my Dad and made him buy it.
Stupid Christmas...making me wait for CD's.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

I haven't listened to the album enough to give a review or all, but from what I've heard its a really good cd. They have a much more mature sound for the most part. Plus a couple songs have a Cure influence to them which is always good. Give it a try I say

THAT explains it!!! I couldn't understand why the verses were so incredibly horrible, and the chorus was really good. That song confuses me, cos I hate it, but like it, too. :freak: Tom needs to stop... everything. Whoever decided he should be a lead singer needs hearing aids. *runs*

(Oh yeah, and I like Blink... really I do... I just can't handle Tom's voice... and apparently, some of his songwriting.)

Quick useless Blink fact! Did you guys know that Tom's REALLY freaking tall? :freak: My boyfriend (literally) ran into him at a Silverchair concert recently... and had to look up to see him... and Monkey's 6' tall.

Show me the way to bed
Show me the way you move
Fucking is such a blur
I love all the things you do

Tom is a lyrical genius Nikki

Though I seriously do like this verse:

Look to the past
And remember her smile
And maybe tonight
I can breathe for awhile
I'm not in the seat
I think I'm fallin' asleep
But then all that it means is
I'll always be dreaming of you
