They vary alot between albums, esspecially when they changed singers. The first album DIG is pretty hard and fast and not to teh liking of alot of olp fans other then the Song "Not Quite Sonic". Scenery and the fish was kind alaid back easy listening rock, with a california flavor. BGO is just really unique and Fun, with alot of funky flavor. And TQMD is pretty proggy, and the new singers voice is Amazing on this cd

My biggest suggestion for IMe are this: If you don't like a few ongs you downlaod download more, they have alot of variing style and alsoa few weird songs, it would be a shame to see someone turned off by the firts few songs they hear. Also give them time to grow on you, i first tried IME last year and didn't really like them other thena few song, but now i LOVE them. It's kinda like listeing to Under Zenith or Car Crash, it sometimes takes awhile to grow on you. Believe me you'll grow to love Brians voice...even if he don't enunciate

IT GETS BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!

THE SONGS THAT WERE NOT PLAYED LAST NIGHT WERE TAPED THE NIGHT BEFORE AND WILL ALSO BE ADDED TO THE DVD, WHICH MEANS EVERY IME SONG IN EXISTANCE WILL BE SHOWN LIVE ON THIS DVD. THATS' 48 SONGS IN PROFFESIONAL AUDIO.................EVERY SINGLE DAMN SONG, RARE OR NOT.......THE DVD WILL ALSO APPARENTLY CONTAIN SOMETHING ELSE SPECIAL.

    *dies*

this is offcially the best and kindest rock band ever.....talk about caring about your fans

i'm sorry but to me that kinda beats the living crap out of OLP's (delayed) DVD, kinda went the extra 100000 miles on that one....

Seems like a last ditch effort at paying their rent if you ask me. Hell for 8 hours work MAYBE in total, they're proably gonna make a bit of cash, which is probably needed since they've become virtually unknown and washed up. OLP don't need 80 hours of footage as an incentive to watch them, IME do. It's sad but very true.

Or maybe OLP is trying to produce item after item of useless crap that doesn't benefit the fans, but still makes them money. Let's see, here's what they did in America with Gravity. They released Gravity. They released Gravity again, but with four extra songs, where the only way to get the free 4 song cd was to buy Gravity again, which lots of people did. Then they released the live album. Then they released the live DVD, which for all intents and purposes is the live cd with pictures, and didn't bother to make it look half-way presentable and left lots of errors in it, and included the same 20 song set they played for a year and a half. At their live shows, if you wanted to meet the band for an autograph signing, you had to buy Gravity again just so you can say hi to the band. They soon started to not come out after shows to talk to fans like they used to, which soon became an incentive for people to buy Gravity again.

Yeah, and IME is the one doing outrageous things for money. Obviously. How could I be so blind?

Alan the thing is though OLP will still have fans either way. People will always be buying OLP's stuff. I agree with you about OLP's recent releases though, and I probably should have made that clearer in my post. I just think this is a last ditch effort by IME in hopes that all the footage will score an increase in sales.

Jim, did you think that the band might want to do something special for the fans that never get to see them? That is a good reason to play a 4 hour show and to have all of their songs on the DVD, not to mention this is supposedly their last tour (from what I've gathered).

Again, back to OLP. Their reasoning for putting out a live DVD was to do something special for the fans, to give them a show just in case they weren't able to see them play live. So on the DVD, they put 20 songs on it, with the majority coming from new albums, and pretty much ignoring songs that weren't singles. Now that might be "special" to them, but I think what IME did is a whole hell of a lot better. OLP clearly does everything to sqeeze out money from their fans, we know this. At least if that is what IME is trying to do, at least they're doing it right.

This is not a last ditch at sales, because it wasn't really advertised, they truely loved their fans and wanetd to do something special for them. Chances are this might be it for the band, and if not we're still facing an indefinatly long hiatus. They didn't have the money to do the show accross Canada to get outto the west like they promised, so they did this. They even gave directions on their site on how to get to Barrie and then the venue, they wanted any fan out there who could come to come. As for the DVD, it's being editied and put together themseleves by Jag, and chances are it's not going to be released commercially, it'll just be made availible to there fans. After the show teh band stayed around the venue forteh after party and talked to all fans, not some meet and great, but actually just having drinks and talking.

As i don't think you seem to realize what they've done here Jim, how many bands can say they've done something like this in an intimate atmosphere? They played 4 hours Straight! That's something not many bands can boast. And anyone that knows IME's music will assure you that it's not easy stuff to play, hell even memorize, esspecially for Jag the guitarist.

By the way thank you Alan, as far as i know you'ev shown no real intrest in IME but you still came and defended them for what was obviously a admirable thing no matter what music you like. I think peope got defensive because i compared it to OLP's DVD, but what can i say. The day olp does something like this i'll give them their due

yeah honestly that is awesome!! i have a new found respect for IME i only like some of there stuff, but that is justt flat out is incredible. And even if they did hope to make some money off of it who the hell cares they have been a damn good rock band for a long time, and now people are just writting them off, they derserve to make some money off of their years of hard work, and if they just wanted money they would have done some like 2 hour dvd and mass produce the damn thing, plus every IME fan will tell you the dvd will be worth every cent, and you definately couldn't say that every olp fan thinks the dvd is worth the 20 bucks they have to spend on it.

the thing is too, they know this might be it so it's a parting gift to us fans, it's going to be a cheap as possible and made availible through their site, i woudl also like to remind people that they're doing this with their own personal money. It's all out of their pocket

They used to be Universal, but that was the entire reason they had to call it quits for now. Now they're independent, and it's unsure whether they can afford to continue
