Dave Matthews New CD: Some Devil

Post by trentm32 »

Anyone check out the new album? is it good/bad/average?
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.

I don't like it at all. If you're a hardcore DMB fan, then it might be ok, but I think that it's garbage.

I like it, and I didn't like the past few releases.

I love bit torrent, but the damn program is so damn shaky. And I strongly dislike how almost all the games wind up being BIN and CUE files. Dirty whores, whatever happened to simple ZIP and RAR  I know the reasons why, I'm just bitching.

Thats where I got the new DMB album though......that site is sweet I check it everyday.

I thought the last DMB album was great...such good songs. I like "Gravedigger" but haven't heard the album yet. I'm sure I'll buy a copy though.

I'm a hardcore Dave fan... so I might be biased, but I thought it was awesome. I too didn't like the previous releases. Busted Stuff was some LWS made to sound more happy (the new grace is gone isn't nearly as good as LWS)... and Everday... iew.

I too am a hardcore DMB fan. Although I liked their newer albums, I don't think they're nearly as good as their older stuff (like BTCS  ) I think Dave's solo album is better than the last 2 DMB albums. I would steer clear of Boyd's solo release though  He was always kind of my favorite in the band, but his solo album kind of turned me off. Still an excellent musician, but (IMO) can't write to save his life.

Brutus is an honorable man
It's just coincidence that oil men will wage war in an oil rich land
And this one goes out to my man taking cover in the trenches with a gun in his hand
Then gets home and no one flinches when he can't feed his fam...

But Brutus is an honorable man...

this is some great stuff, it really grows on you after a while. I'm not much of a DMB fan, other than whats been put on the radio. but this CD is quite awesoem.
