New Post/interview from Raine and Steve

Post by Tattooed Angels »

Hi guys there are two new items from Raine and Steve on OLP.net. Here is the link for Steve

http://www.ourladypeace.net/index1.html
click on Steve interview-too long ot put here.

here is the post from Raine.
09/18/2003 - "hello everyone"
by Raine

we are 3 shows away from finishing up the current U.S tour. it has been a blast but we can't wait to get back in the studio. the new songs we've been playing have been going over well live but i can't promise they'll make the record.

we're in the middle of some serious musical growth. the next OLP record won't be gravity part 2 and it won't sound like any of our previous records. We truly feel like we've developed a trust with you guys. we know and respect the freedom you give us.

to everyone we saw out on the road this summer... we appreciate your support. see y'all next year.

peace and love.
Raine Maida

It's great whenever these guys speak out. It's good to know that things are still going strong with the band.

Gravity was a stepping stone for them. A launch if you will to what the future holds.

i like the whole "not gravity part 2" kinda thing but the way how he trusts how we let them do whatever they want with their music is kind of unsettling for me

I was just gonna say, it kinda seems like raine realizes that everyone hated gravity.

LMAO, I didn't even think about that gravity part two part until you pointed that out. I mean...it was just like reading a post from one of the cm'ers.

Wow...I wonder what Raine, or any of them, would say about Gravity if they could say whatever they felt in their hearts and didn't have to worry about it getting spread around.

Hmmm...i was thinking the same thing (about raine realizing we didn't like gravity). I hope he did!

Of course no one will take me at my word for this because I am 'biased.' The sceptical will always be sceptical and those who love to bitch wont have it taken away from them, but I've had many conversations with them. A lot of them are conversations between friends that will never be repeated, but I can tell you that they were just as proud of gravity as they've said in every interview.

I can also probably find you a thousand interviews where they've said the next album isn't going to be the same as the last album. It's same thing they've always done. I hope they always keep doing it. I personally love the growth.

Read into it what you will... things are rarely taken the same way by everyone.

I agree 100% with you. Somethings I have spoke with them about I haven't repeated, but can say that like you they are proud of Gravity as with any CD they have released. Either way I can't wait for the new stuff when it comes out. I also love the growth. hey I am just glad they are able to put out new music and tour to back it up. For me the live sjhows are what I love most about OLP. It is all about seeing the songs live. :D

I only hope they keep WTSOYF. That is such a great song. I hope it makes it to the CD.

All I can say is that if Not Afraid gets cut there's going to be some castrating going on in Maui

Err, forget I said that. :wtf:

If that's the case expect Raine's voice to be significantly higher when listening to the new album.

yeah, Not Afraid really is the standout track so far. Its just the most promising.

Talk is Cheap, No warning and WTSOYF are also good....but we'll wait and see.

I really can't wait to see what they do.........I trust them.....even after gravity.

I hope the ones from the studio videos make it, those sounded awesome, especially the really fast-paced one with the killer guitar.

Not Afraid and WTSOYF better make the cut or i will be pissed. I dont mind the other songs, but these 2 stand out the most to me. But they are going to write another 12-15 songs so a lot of the first 12 they recorded could get cut....

hmmmm......did anyone ever think of a double album.....i mean they are going to have at least 2 dozen songs to choose from......now i am really kidding myself!!!!
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?
