Online Dungeons & Dragons Campaign

Post by Susan »

I'm a bored nerd, and I want to put my player's handbook to good use.

I want to run an online campaign. Something we can play over AIM or MSN. I'll be your gracious Dungeon Master, and you will be my adventurers in a world I completely make up.

If you don't know how to play, I'll teach anyone who needs is, and I'll even make your character sheets for you if need be.

All you need is some free time, paper, pen/pencil, some imagination, and dice (with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 20 sides).
If you don't have the dice, I'm writing a program that'll roll them for you.

I will, and there is a thing in aim chats that already does that.

I'll write some quick basic info and publish it on a page for everyone who doesn't know how. There are a lot of rules, but it's not so bad once you get to know them

I'm in, absolutely. I already know the basics of character creation at least - thank you, Neverwinter Nights.

I don't have AIM though. But if this is to be run over it, I'll get it.

No problem. It'll take a few days to set up. I have to write the campaign, set up stats for enemies, make NPCs, and make sure you guys know what's going on.

I'm lazy, so I'm going to hunt down a program to roll dice for you (unless you have all those dice, which is unlikely), unless Josh wants to tell me what program for AIM already does it.

Since I won't be sleeping tonight, I'll probably hop to it.

I found a nice simple program that does it for you. When I get all the info straightened out, I'll send it to everyone. It's just easier than having to refresh a page every time.

We can work out the communication details a little later. Don't worry about it right now, just worry about me getting all this info for you guys.

Here's something I threw together quick.
http://su7an.emtee.org/dnd/index.htm

I'll start writing the campaign later today.
Josh's NWN experience will help a little because the game follows 3rd edition DnD rules pretty well.

Now I sleep.

Bwah! Why didn't I see this sooner!?

Can I join?

I've only played DnD once, but I'm pretty familiar with dice and all that..

Sure thing.
I'm writing the campaign right now. I'll get to character making and stuff a little later. Read up on things if you want. You can download the Player's Handbook in .pdf format off of Kazaa. Make sure it's the 3rd edition or 3e version.
