Song for a video

Post by TaLeNtOsO »

In your opinion, who song of our lady peace must make a video? (old or new)

My vote is for Julia and Everyone's a Junkie

Car crash.

Lots of rain, and a really horrible wreck, with the band playing in the rain and stuff with all the cops and ambulances and fire trucks..

now that would be awesome

I wonder if they would make a video for Wipe That Smile Off Your Face, if they released it as a single...with various clips of Bush and stuff, that would be quite interesting.

All My Friends would make for a cool video too.

I would have made one already, but things didn't work out... So perhaps this year I'll have one done...

I would like to see a video for Blister.

I have this odd image of the video where the band plays in a small room, and the video is black and white, with flashes of color, or for you Canadian folk, colour.

For the non-band part of the video, here's my idea. There's a guy tied to a chair. He's bruised and bloodied and left in a dark room with faint light coming in, while it's raining outside. There would be flashbacks of the guy having what happened to him to get into this situation as the song describes, like him being chased and captured. When the song hits the music part before the last chorus, the guy gets free, breaks a window, and he's frantically running with lots of flashes of color while there's a car running starting to chase him down. He gets into a house and locks the door. Then at the end of the song where Raine goes "I'm waiting for, they're at my door," the camera has the view of breaking down the door and the guy that broke free is shaking with a shotgun in his hand, pointed at the camera.

Now you all have to tell me what you think of that idea for the video.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

I've always thought blister would make a good video. Only I picture each band member playing/singing in their own white room with padded walls. The rooms would be right next to each other so the camera could pan sideways showing each member in succession. Also you would see the backs of the heads of scientist dudes in white jackets observing them through those one-way mirror dealies.

I never saw Blister like that, but then again, yours sounds pretty damn good. With the Happiness.... cd, I envisioned 11 videos that link together to tell one story through video. I thought about it, and I could make each song and video overlap into each other to make an awesome 41 minute video that I'd love to direct, but then again, this was in 1999, OLP has two cds out since then, and I am not a director, just a loser with an imagination.

There could be many reasons. Duncan had some medical problems around that time so they may not have wanted to make another one without him or whatever. Also they just might have wanted to get back to making music.
