Who's your fave guitarists?

Post by I AM ME »

????
I'm mainly asking about current day ones, we all know about Clapton, hendrix, santana, halen

some of mine would be

Dave Navarro: Considered one of the best rock players out there, currently Axe for higher, has played for Chillie Peppers, Marilyn Manson, Co-founder of Janes addiction, and the biggest alt-rock festival in north america. He was offered the job for GnR when Axl left.

John Fruciante: need more be said, he's not real complicated but everything he makes sounds perfect.

Steve Mazur: only based on Live performance....buut he seemed pretty inmpressive.

Mike Turner: it's mike turner come on.

Jag Tanna: , amazing, complicated musical masterpiece, has own unique flavour, he plays kick ass alt-rock, but also can play some sweet ass funk and Santanaesque stuff. Creater of about 20 epic length songs. Throws old song structure out the window, and each song has mulltiple riffs, and is more of a free flowing jam session then structured song. God i can't say enough about this guy, every song he works on is a guitar masterpiece, which is why his band has always been so heavily guitar driven.

"The white dove is gone, the one world has come down hard, so why not share the pain of our problems, when all around are wrong ways, when all around is hurt, i'll roll up in an odd shape and wait, untill the tide has turned.....with anger, i'm dead weight, i'm anchored"- IME, God Rocket (Into the Heart of Las Vegas) ^ Some say this song is about a terrorists thoughts before 911

"Pray for the sheep" Matt Good
"But it's alright, take the world and make it yours again" Matt Good

I felt it in the wind, and i saw it in the sky, i thought it was the end, i thought it was the 4th of July.

cuomo
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

John Mayer is an excellent blues guitarist - he names Stevie Ray Vaughan as one of his influences, so they both can be on the list. :)

-Jag Tanna (I agree with Clumsyboy all the way... far and away my favourite modern day guitarist)
-Mike Turner
-Dave Genn (btw: where is this guy now?)
-The Edge
-Neil Young (I love the sweet extended solos he cranks out in many of his songs... especially on the "Ragged Glory" album)
-Joe Satriani (maybe not so current, but definitely still worth mentioning!)
