Idlewild

Post by Dabekk »

i have recently discovered a new and amazing band named idlewild. they're from scotland and kind of fit into the whole brit rock scene but are a bit heavier and more up tempo.

my friend took me to their concert at the powerplant (on the u of a campus). after two crappy openning acts they took the stage and totally reeked of rockstardom. After the show i bought their new cd called 'the remote part'.

If anyone wants to check them out i'd recommend "you held the world in your arms", "a modern way of letting go" and "(i am) what i am not" and pretty much anything else you can find.

i should add that idlewild's earlier stuff was much more punk than they are now. On the new album, although it is up beat, i probably wouldn't call it punk. (punk influenced maybe)

Yup Idlewild is a really great band  .. The Remote Part was probably the best album I bought last year. Haven't had a chance to catch them live yet :( . But yup everyone should check them out.

A friend of me is an Idlewild fan, and I have heard some of their stuff. I really like 'Roseability' and 'American English'.

You Held The World In Your Arms is such a pretty song. :)

And American English, for that matter.
