What happened to Mike E.?

This kinda sucks. Does anyone know what happend to Mike? I know he a new dad and all. I thought he would of lasted with OLP. I kinda hope OLP doesn't stick with this whole 4 member thing. Ever since Jamie and then Mike, the band's sound has evolved so much.

it was only Raine, Duncun, Steve, and Jer at the Juno's.

Ahh, just read the announcement page and OLP is going back to 4 guys!

WTF? Are they tight on cash?

Maybe Raine's gonna play more guitar and he's gonna start playing keyboard. *shrugs*

Duncan plays the keyboard, he is the one that did it before jamie was around....i think you see him play it at the beginnig of the automatic flowers video....what about who is going to play second guitar.....i dont think raine will play any more, in fact, i think he will play less so he can go nuts on the stage more....im sure they know what they are doing though!

I'm kind of confused by this. I need to confirm with Gail exactly what's going on. I knew Mike wasn't being involved in recording the new record at all, and although I think he was a bit sad about not doing that he's definitely glad to be able to spend some time at home with his family - he said he had lots of stuff to do at home after being on the road for so long.

But after the show in London we were talking to him about when we'd see him again and he was talking about coming back at the end of the year. Then when he left to go back inside he suddenly turned around and came back to us and said something like 'I'm not going to see you guys again for a while, am I?' and gave us both a hug. The implication was definitely that we'd be seeing him again. So maybe things have changed since then? A lot can happen in 10 days. Or maybe he is taking some time off touring to be with his family and will come back to Europe with OLP later in the year. I really hope so, it wouldn't be the same without him standing at the back smiling at everyone.

I guess they feel as if they dont need a 5th member but a lot of songs have two guitar parts so who knows. Maybe Gail just misunderstood and he said he just isnt going to be on the album.

my guess is that while they want to simplify their songs and recording process, that they're goin to do the same thing with live performances. I wouldn't be surprised if they just left out all the parts that mike/jamie did from now on.

raine needs to back to playing the guitar. it seemed so much more intimate when he did. though, i do like him going crazy on stage too...

this really doesnt have anything to do with this topic, but SoozyJ, you said, when you first heard them, that the two live songs, one of them sounded like naveed, and the other sounded like whatever. which one was not afraid? (just curious)

Aww

I loved Jamie and then I got attached to Mike E. and now he's gone too? Well .. Duncan used to play the keyboard until Jamie came along .. they used to be able to do it just fine with 4 people .. so does this mean Mike E. isn't coming back at all .. or we're still not sure?

Talk Is Cheap is louder, more like Whatever.
Not Afraid ( :drool:

) is more Naveed era OLP. Well, that's the closest we could come to fitting it into other OLP stuff. I love that song so much. :drool:
