OLP covering 'Drive'

Post by Soozy »

The Kelowna setlist posted on ourladypeace.cc says that OLP did a cover version of 'Drive' by the Cars last night. That sounds so cool. I hope someone's managed to record it.

This had better stay around longer than the With Or Without You cover. I'd love to hear it in Ottawa or Montreal.

that set list seemed a bit out of order compared to the reviews. Doesnt seem like the tour was groundbreaking. No one from here went to the show??

I'd like to see the actual setlist. Steve mentioned in his FOTTP post that they'd played BBTS which wasn't on the setlist and I couldn't believe that they played 4am anywhere other than at the end - and then one of the reviews said they did end with it (I think). I was also surprised not to see Made of Steel on there - since it's the new single you'd have thought they would be playing it every night. I'd also like to have seen Stealing Babies or TWF or something they haven't played for ages in there. Still, maybe they'll mix things up a bit as they go along. We'll just have to wait and see I suppose.

I'd like to see the real setlist too, but for now I'll just assume the one on Rich and Shelley's was mostly accurate. Steve said in that post that they went six weeks without playing and they've only had a couple days getting their stuff together. They've only played The Wonderful Future and Stealing Babies a few times with Steve, perhaps they weren't comfortable with going right back to playing them after six weeks off. I hope that's the case, and that they'll bring one or both of them back after a couple nights.

I really hope that set list isnt a hint to whats going on to the live cd. While its certainly not bad, its rather small compared to the US tour. Seems to me they need to fit in 1 or 2 more songs from both Happyness and SM. I may be just dreaming but if they play one of their larger set lists for the recordings we could have a double disk live album on our hands. That is.. if they dont cut it down.

i would say 14 songs and no cover on the live cd

But then they will just stuff a lot of gravity into that 14 song set. Thats no good. I want variety. Seems SM, and Happyness always get shafted.

You can't cover songs and stick em on an album and make money off of em. It costs money to get the rights to sell the song. And that takes time. They're rushing this album.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

seems like they're sticking to the old setlist from the American tour... kinda sad really, I wish they'd mix it up a lot more... but I guess it would be heard to do cause of lighting or something (at least I hope thats the reason behind it...)
