His step-father is the principal at Port Huron High School. Hell, after Steve joined OLP and wasn't all that well known, Steve played with the school band because his step-dad invited him to play. My friend (before he got kicked out of the dorms) had a roommate who went to Port Huron and was there to see Steve play the guitar. Needless to say, my friend's roommate became an OLP fan.

I live a meager 45 minutes from it, and if I knew about it, I would have gotten to that damned school just to hear Steve play. A bunch of people from that school ended up going to Sarnia (it's right across the boarder from Port Huron) to see OLP play because of Steve.
