There's a new commercial for VH1, and towards the end they show a second of the SwOT video (they show Raine).
So I posted this in the OLP LJ community, and one guy replied with:
that commercial wasnt funny at all. I saw it too, you're just interpreting it all wrong. They were showing shots of lots of lots of different bands/singers. Raine was one of them. It's saying that Our Lady Peace is a popular band, and they are.
Comments, anyone? Because I'm completely amazed.

Our good ole boys are hitting that big famous bandwagon.
"When looking up there, I just felt whole, like I belonged. Like one day I too would shine my most brilliant. Sitting there also made me think about sitting through services at my little country church back home. About that never-changing congregation of the same sixty-seven people and everyone has known you since before you were born. Now, out here in the real world, everything just seemed more vivid than when I used to sit in that little pew. That pew that was now so, so far away from where I was. I feared I had somehow left God behind there, too. I feared he was somehow just sitting there, saving my seat on the fifth pew from the front row, just waiting on me to come back. I left so quickly, I worried that he may not have noticed I was gone. And, now, I’m just too far away to find. So he’s just sitting there, patiently waiting on me to come back. I closed my eyes and prayed a moment. I hoped more than anything that he could still hear me." -an excerpt from my novella, A Sea of Fallen Leaves.
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.
It turned out that the guy made the comment because he thought that I thought that Raine was only in the commercial because he was pretty.
I'm just trying to figure out how somebody can misinterpret a commercial such as this one, and I also assumed he was another dude was anti-OLP popularity.

First off that commerical is more or less a clip from the SOT video becuase it shows the adoration of a audience for a band. Not so much it was Raine or OLP, but for the senerio it represents. That being out of the way. Some of you are such hypercrites. You claim to love the abdn but don't want anyone else to experience the band. I am now over in England catching the last 4 European shows and the response has been amazing. I am so proud and over joyed to see the band finally get the reconiztion they deserve outside of North America. Unlike some of you, I am not afraid to share OLP with the rest of the world. I embrace it. It isn't all 14 year old girls either. there were alot of older fans here and i felt so comfortable to finally be in a audience with people my age or close to it. that is all I will say except. I am so happy for the guys to get this exposure. They deserve all the success and reconition thrown there way.

It's been great seeing OLP in Europe. The only 14-year-old 'teenieboppers' I've seen over here were in fact Canadians. OLP seems to attract a very mature audience. Moreover they're also recognized by music critics, I've only seen positive reviews in magazines and newspapers.

Yeah, they mentioned coming back more regularly. Otherwise the new fans would get mad at them, Steve said.
Su7an:I bet Duncan can fly. He's just holding out on showing that skill off. joe_canadian:Yeah, one day at a concert he'll just stop playing and be like "Yo muthafuckas! Wheeeeee!" and zoom off into the horizon
I didn't know she was gone. I was gone though. I was only posting like 2 or 3 posts a day. Took my much-needed break from the CM and reality. Now I'm back and ready for spammy action!
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?
