I just start to play guitar and Im wondering who is the best guitar player of all time and who's the best guitar player alive. As far as i know, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Slash (Gun's n Roses) and Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) are among the best. Did I forget anyone?

we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

My list: Mark Tremonti, Kurt Cobain, Carlos Santana, John Frusciante, Jimi Hendrix. When I think of more I'll post them.
Some of you probably think I left. But was I ever here to start?

Jerry Cantrell
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

Stevie Ray Vaughn, don't really like his music that much but he is incredable with guitar.

I do NOT agree with Kurt Cobain.
Al's emails put a smile on my face, even though all they say is "You've got a private message!"

yeah me neither. i respect Kurt for the music he did and started, but he's not one of the best guitarists ever. a lot of nirvana songs are classic, but simple.
Rivers Cuomo is also a good guitarist, but not one of the greatest.
