let's go to the punk rock show!!

Nothing is more fun than going to random punk shows. I went to my first one since moving to Kingston last night and I had a great time. There was this really cool band called the Getaway there and I'm listening to their music right now. The place was so sketchy, but it was loads of good times, I had forgotten how much I missed going to see live shows all the time. Anyone else a fan of punk shows?

that's not a punk show
we are the brand new beatniks. we are the down and outers.
we are the bleeding hearts, beating syncopated, broken rhythm.
our speed is often break neck. we need to slow it down.
tired of being sleepless. tired of being broken.

[glow=yellow]What??? [/glow]it's soooo much fun if you're in the right mood, and the shows are always a good time, even if you don't listen to it at home.

Punk shows. hmmm. It depends on what you define as punk. most of the shows I go to are more indie rock. but occassionally it's fun to go to punk shows, when i'm with my awesome punk friends. because they protect me from the mean people.
don't look now, just keep watching the TV hating what's too see waiting for someone to say something that's right.

Yeah, punk is dead. We have emo and pop/punk now. I would love to see The Sex Pistols though, a lot.

I don't know what you'd condiser the local bands around here, because they got the same sound as The Sex Pistols, but they sure as hell don't sing about the government or anything. I enjoy local bands, but seriously, punk is dead.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

i went to the Finch concert last night and it was a big dissapointment. They were really horrible live, but amazing on the CD. I didnt stay for Something Corporate b/c it was already 12am. I heard they were not good either. Out of 6 bands (3 signed) my friends band played the best!!! The crowd was actually chanting one more song after they got off

I will say that Anti-Flag is badass, but come on, it's no Sex Pistols. And Brent, you like Creed, remember that. There's nothing wrong with The Vines, except the get too whiney at times.

I know another band that's whiney. *cough cough* What's wrong with being whiney? I just don't like their music.

Personal preference, I am just screwing around with you Brent. Personally, I don't give a shit about the Vines, they're talented and all, and I don't hate them, but I don't love them either. It's the case where I own the cd, but don't listen to it that much.

Nu-metal, Nu-rock, Returning Rock, New Age Rock. There's a bunch of different names for it.
