Somewhere Out There Acoustic Guitar Tab

Post by Reijin »

Anyone have it? Just curious. The acoustic verison and the live version are in a key thats lower than the album version, and I'm not very good with music theory and stuff, so I was hoping maybe someone else had figured out how to play it the way they do now. Any help would be appreciated.

From 9-26-02 - Acoustic Sessions - 96.5 The Buzz - Kansas City, MO --
I donno if this helps you- but this is what i (basically) play on the acoustic.

Capo 2nd
tune 1/2 step down
--------------------------

intro/chorus(lead)
|----------------------------------|
|-----------------------------3---|
|--2--1--4---222----------- 2---|
|--2--2--2---222----- 4---- 0---|
|-----------------------2---------|
|-----------------------2---------|

verses-
x02200
x00230
224xxx
x00230

bridge thingy-
|--------------|--------------4--|
|---------10--|------------4----|
|--6--7-------|--4--6-----------|
|--------------|---------7-------|
|--------------|-----------------|
|--------------|-----------------|

Thats pretty much how i play it. Though what my ears hear ... may not be what yours do. But it sounds ok to me. I'm sure you can figure the rest out yourself. Comments are welcome. Enjoy.

Thanks guys...the thing that caught my eye in all the performances was that capo on the second fret, I wasn't sure if he was just using some strange tuning or something. I'll give these tabs a shot. As for tabbing it out myself...I'm not quite good at that. I never took guitar lessons, so there's a lot of stuff I just don't know about, especially with my lack of understanding of music theory. Thanks again people!

You know dude, you dont need to be taught by a teacher....Heck...Hendriix taugt himself and look how cool he was. I taught myself....I couldnt afford lessons...and I didnt want someone to teach me....Right now I'm a good player(Im not trying to sound cocky) You Know what some guitarist say that you should know theory and some say you don't need to know theory. You just gotta like to play. Why did you start playing guitar?

Haha.

It would be cool to learn to play (especially if I taught myself, as I'm broke ;) ) guitar, but I wouldn't know where to start.
I just wanna get out,
