Wonderful Future lyrics

Post by One-Eye »

...maybe she's wrong but I wouldn't mind my own, what do I know
------------------- with a touch of her soul, what do I know...

So what goes in the blanks? I was moseying around Rich and Shelley's site, and they have it as "I'm best to let go", but I always thought it was "and this silicone", going along with the theme of Spiritual Machines. That line isn't in the printed lyrics.

So... thoughts?

I always heard "the best of them come with a touch of her soul", but that's just me. :freak:

Unfortunately I can not find my SM cd right now, but according to an OLP lyric site this is what they wrote is being said.

Maybe she's wrong
But I won't mind my own
What do I know?
And their silicone
With a touch of her soul
What do I know?

hope that helps.

It doesn't say in the booklet, but I'm fairly sure it's:

"Maybe she's wrong
But won't mind my own (not sure about that)
What do I know?
I'm best to let go
With a touch of her soul
What do I know?"

I used to think it was "And by silicone" but "I'm best to let go" works better.

i always thought it was

"and the silicone, with a touch of her soul..."

i always bounced between with "best to let go with a touch of her soul", and "and the silicone, with a touch of her soul", so i'm not really sure which one it is. All I know is that I LOVE that song..

i heard the silicone one up until last month when i saw the other interpretation, which you could also make Raine's "noises" out to be, i guess. i'm probably going to stick with the silicone one, though, because that was how i first heard it, and it's my interpretation that matters to me.

im almost positive that it's "I'm best to let go, for the touch of her soul...."
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

i always thought it was "and it's silicon with a touch of her soul" it makes sence cause it probably is talking about ray's discusion on brain replacements made up micro ships(silicon)

i always heard "and the silicone"
you have to, you just have to trust me
whoever i was then i can't ever be again
the faith you've found i've never felt
the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"
the truth be told, i'm never going to know

I always thought it was "and the silicone with a touch of her soul" but then I thought about the song. It's about how some one can't have this wild girl, so it seems like he's really saying "I'm best to let go with a touch of her soul." See what I mean? He can't have a wild girl, so he is best to let go, ya know?
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

And the wild girl represents the future. Actually, the lyrics in the book say "She's beautiful and wonderful" but in the song he says "She's beautiful and wild". So the meaning can really be taken any way you want, which is the way Raine likes it.

But I wanna know what the real lyrics are. I mean, enough questions, I need an answer.

where'd this wildness come from?! i always thought he WAS singing wonderful, only cutting off the end, almost as if in exasperation.

she's beautiful and wooonnnnnn-
i can't compare
wooonnnn-
it's just not fair

see? almost as if he couldn't get the words out.
Lick a finger: feel the now.
