BBMak - "Into Your Head"

Post by NunoFreak »

I picked up the new BBMak album today. It's pretty good. The best song on the album is "Run Away", which just happens to feature Nuno Bettencourt on guitar and he also co-wrote the song.

Is BBMak to be taken seriously? I've only heard of them through my younger sister, so I'm genuinely asking. I thought they were a boy band, actually.

I never took Extreme very seriously, either, though, I guess.

I think they're a boy band who can play the guitar or something.
I faced death. I went in with my arms swinging. But I heard my own breath and had to face that I'm still living. I'm still flesh. I hold on to awful feelings. I'm not dead... My chest still draws breath. I hold it. I'm buoyant. There's no end.

BBMak are probably considered a 'boy band', but by definition they aren't one. They write their own songs and play instruments, so they're just a pop band in my book. They have a lot of very good songs and they should be taken seriously.

Endymion: I'm sorry to hear that Extreme wasn't taken seriously, because they released some of the best music in the 90's and went fairly unnoticed. "III Sides To Every Story" is an amazing album that transcends genres and stereotypes of other bands from that era. Nuno Bettencourt is without a doubt a terrific songwriter, guitarist, drummer, singer, producer, etc. He's an all-around great musician. I am a NunoFreak afterall.

BB Mak are pretty good .. I have their first cd and there's some good tunes on there. I wouldn't consider them a boy band either ..

i never really cared for them but i'm a big fan of just about anything with an acoustic guitar so... if i spent enough time i guess i'd end up liking them... but BBmak is just one of those bands that you're embaressed to like...

I'm not embarrased to like BBMak and I hang out with metalheads. I like all kinds of music. If you're embarassed to like something, you need to check yourself.

And also, comparing Dave Grohl to Nuno Bettencourt is like comparing dog shit to gold. Although I do like Grohl a lot, his drumming on the new Queens Of The Stone Age record is off the hook!

I'm not embarrassed to like any band .. music is music and people have different opinions on different bands. I'm not going to feel ashamed or embarrassed just because of what other people might happen to think about a band I like .. that doesn't make sense since I'm sure we're all old enough to think for ourselves and not let other people or media influence us about the music or bands we listen too, to the point where we feel embarrassed :|

Maybe "emabaressed" wasn't a good word.

Maybe some bands are definitly guilty pleasure bands.
