Goo Goo Dolls

Post by megxyz128 »

I don't know if I'm going to get a lot of flack for posting about this band, but I LOVE the Goo Goo Dolls! I know a lot of people really don't like them around here, but one thing i always tell people is that you should really see them live first because they are absolutely amazing and funny onstage which makes for a great show. I saw them for the 4th time last night with Vanessa Carlton and 3EB and they just really get better and better. Anyways, I don't know if there really is a point, but just wanted to know if there were any fellow fans out there ... ?

They were really good live, they played a lot of their new stuff, and from what I heard their new CD's going to be really good, especially the song "Palm Reader". Stephen Jenkins was wearing this kick ass top hat on stage, I want one, lol. But yeah, they were really good, and their stage set up looked very similar to OLP's set up on this tour, thought that was worth sharing..

goo goo dolls are cool when johnny rzneick (sp?) is singing...i cant stand the other guy (robbie tackic or something like that)...i just went to bash his head in when i hear him sing. a boy named goo is a really good album, though...long way down is prolly my favorite song of theirs.

that tour is goin to houston and id go if it wasnt on a week nite cause its a 2 and a half hour drive, plus ill have crew at 5 in the morn the next day. i really like 3eb, though. everyone told me they sucked ass live, and i watched them on letterman once and they really did suck...but about 9 months after blue came out i got a chance to see them in person and i thought they were great.

it's such a shame..."

MY MOST AMAZING GOO GOO DOLLS EXPERIENCE!!

Post by MorbidSweetness »

My night was unbelievable!! First, like I have said in a few of my other posts we had front row tickets to see the Goo Goo Dolls tonight. Our seats were over to the side but we managed to start moving our way over towards the center. My bf and I were rocking out and going nuts. Well, to make the story short, one of the security guards came up to us and asked if my bf was the one he had pulled up front at the Riv (he was rocking out at that show and the band told the guard to bring him up where the security stands.) So then he handed us two backstage passes and tells us we can go stand in middle section of the front row while everyone else had to go back to their seats.

Then after the show we met with a group of people to go to this patio party sort of thing. There Mike (the drummer) came up to us and introduced himself, he really wanted to meet my bf. Then he took us back into a small room with a few people where Robby(bassist/vocals) ran up to my bf and gave him a big hug and we talked in there for a bit. Then we went back on the patio and hung out there with the other people. John (guitar/vocals) came out for a few minutes and we got to shake his hand and stuff but he needed to get going early. Then for some reason people started leaving. Mike decided to get going too because he needed some rest. Eventually all that was left was my bf, me, Robby and an old friend of his. We sat down and talked to them for about 20 min. Then one of the guards and his gf joined us and we all talked for a little bit. Robby didn't want to get going but some of the security people were telling him he needed to. Robby gave my bf and I each a big hug and left. He also gave me his e-mail address!! We spent the last hour of the show meeting the band!! What a night!!

~Jennifer~

P.S. the show in itself was amazing. I'm really glad this happened for my bf because the GGD are his favorite band (I love them too, but he feels the same way about the GGD as I do OLP)

Asking why is meaningless when we don't know why we live. ~Me
