Your Dream Music Festival

Post by Joey »

I remember we did this awhile back but with so many new fans at the CM I thought it'd be fun to do it again: If you could plan a music festival what bands would you want to play there? Here's my dream festival:

Our Lady Peace
Counting Crows
Papa Roach
Blink 182
Great Big Sea
Me First and the Gimme Gimme's
Oasis
Pink
Alanis Morrisette

1. Foo Fighters
2. Ash
3. Muse

Those three would be a good warm-up.

4. Doves
5. Coldplay
6. Matt Good
7. Radiohead (headlining)

Well, my dream line up was basically answered at this year's Sarnia Bayfest (OLP, the Hip, Sloan, the Guess Who and Nickelback), but if I had my way, I would have replaced the Guess Who with Barenaked Ladies and would have got Great Big Sea for an added Sunday afternoon show.

There's always next year...

That Bayfest lineup seems pretty damn good to me except for one flaw...

OLP, the Hip, Sloan, the Guess Who and Nickelback

Not for me...

So, my lineup would be...

The Hip
The Guess Who
Sloan
Chantal Kreviazuk
Our Lady Peace

A duet between the latter two would, of course, take place.

Ahh! They're one of my top 10 bands for sure, I was so angry because they didn't play at the Detroit warped tour :( but I did hear that they're might be touring with the Ataris and Autopilot Off which are two amazing bands so I'd be there :D I can't believe they toured with GC though, that would have been awesome.

Oh and about your list: I forgot about Dashboard! ahh, and Yellowcard's pretty good, my sister listens to them a lot, oh and I LOVE Reel Big Fish, woo!

oooo, this is a good one, but it's such a tough decision. okay, here goes...

1. Travis (1 hour)
2. Coldplay (1 hour)
3. Chantal Kreviazuk (1 hour)
4. Bush(only their stuff from Razerblade Suitcase and Sixteen Stone) (1 1/2 hour)
5. Incubus (2 hour)
6. Radiohead (2 1/2 hour)
6a. U2 (1 1/2 hours [collaborative activities not included]
7. OLP(of course, although they may get in a fight with Radiohead because they'll be headlining and Radiohead will prolly get jealous, but as long as I'm dreaming...) (3 + hours)

wait....because I'm just dreaming...let's have U2 stop by and do some collaborative stuff with Radiohead and OLP. We'll put them in the 6a. position, and they can play their own stuff for an hour and a half, without the collaboration, and they can do a couple songs with Radiohead and a couple songs with OLP.

*note*: all times listed above are subject to change depending on what i want...not what the bands want. if i have to chain them to the stage to play...well then...that'll just have to happen.

I tried thinking of a few bands...but decided that my concert would be a two day fun-filled one. I only really love OLP, and then maybe below that is DC, and then I like all the other bands I listen to about the same. I can only be obsessed about one band.

(In no particular order)

Our Lady Peace, Ash, Badly Drawn Boy, Bright Eyes, Coldplay, Dashboard Confessional, David Grey, Donkey Punch!, Good Charlotte, John Mayer, Pedro the Lion, Sloan, The Ataris, The Get Up Kids, The Strokes, White Stripes, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.

Now THAT would be a concert!
HARDCORE!!!

OMG. I can't believe I din't think fo you
until now because when I think on
a scale of one to ten you're like YWELVE.
No, seriously?

I <3 my HLP!!!!!
